Maleny Lodge Boutique Accommodation — Hotel in Sunshine Coast Regional

If you’re in Maleny for a wedding or so, it’s a good spot to stay. The location is great. The bed and pillows were great as well and the bathroom is nice. Basically you’ve got your essentials covered.

The below applies to the simple room we had, we understand each room is different.

The service was really good, as well. Sharon was accomodating and helpful. You can tell she cares.

While the place has that vintage early 1900s charm, our room was just a bit too basic. This is where things got a bit frustrating for us, the priority should be to comfort rather than the looks / decor.

The only place to put your stuff was a drawer unit and it was terrible to use, barely worked and not very clean — one of those older pieces with hard to pull out drawers. No wardrobe, just three hangers on the wall.

The sofa wasn’t comfortable at all, again looks like an old sofa. No plates / cutlery (tea stuff / wine glasses provided though), no little desk or little table other than a tiny side table next to the sofa. No chairs. No TV (which we didn’t mind). No safe. So simply it’s the bed and it was a good bed.

Our room was also very humid and everything felt a bit damp. Needs a stronger dehumidifier.

Great location in the centre of town. No normal tea and no milk in the room. Pool was a nice temperature. Pool area was not cleaned in the time we visited- the pool full of leaves, bugs, cockroaches, bees, spiders, crickets etc and pool area leaves etc on both days For almost $300 a night we expected more then a welcome message focused on “this is the code to get your key and take out your rubbish on checkout “ When queried on the tea they replied to say only relaxing tea and coffee available. Cool - would’ve been great to know when at the shops earlier but ok will go back and buy some black tea. Disappointed to then get back and realise no milk either. Text message correspondence with a love emoji from the host on a message when feeling disappointed added to the lack of care. The lady who was at the property was kind and made an effort to give us fresh pool towels on our 2nd day. The rooms are not serviced daily so we were fortunate that she changed our pool towels so we could use them as fresh towels in...

Whilst the property presents an appealing aesthetic, the service and available amenities are significantly lacking...

As others have mentioned, the manager/receptionist was rude and unprofessional; Upon reporting an issue trying to lock the door to my room (which would have required a 20-minute drive for him), it seemed to bother him. Fortunately, another guest, who happened to be a builder, provided assistance. The pool cover was not in place, and the pool's heating was inadequate. The provided cutlery was insufficient, with only 2 tiny teaspoons. Considering the necessity of self-catering - a fork, butter knife and some bowls would be a practical addition. The hand towel rack was damaged, and due the age of the furniture rendered drawers and other components unusable.
