I usually don’t write negative reviews, but as a hospitality business owner myself, I owe it to future patrons to share my experience.
I traveled to Maleny with my family, which was cut short when myself and my one year old started suffering the symptoms of food poisoning from this establishment. We should’ve known that the food would be substandard when every single table that was dining in was complaining about either the service they received, the wait time or the food. Regardless of this, we decided to go ahead and order our meals, as it was a public holiday and there were limited options in the area. The food we received was lukewarm, which I didn’t realise at the time because I was tending to two children, and the order was initially wrong (asked for plain rice-received coconut rice). The customers next to us complained because they’d ordered their food half an hour earlier than we did and ours came out first. We ended up eating some of the food, but came to realise the flavours were bland and had an unusual texture. We didn’t receive some of the order (missed food included- mango lassie and keema naan), but waited so long and were so dissatisfied that we paid and left. 5 hours later, my baby daughter and I endured terrible symptoms of food poisoning, which led us to travel two hours home to recover and leave our beautiful $400 a night accomodation. My husband and eldest daughter became ill soon after getting home. I would suggest a major overhaul in food safety management, additional staff training (how to treat customers respectfully and conflict resolution) and perhaps some renovations, so that the restaurant is well lit and bulbs aren’t missing/blown. Would rate 0...
Read moreI was in Maleny yesterday, and I had a craving for Indian. I dined in last time. This time, I ordered a mild butter chicken (the sign outside claimed it was the best), a hot goat curry (advertised with bones in it) & a cheese and garlic naan to take away. I was excited about the goat curry as I rarely see this on a menu. I was told it would be a 30-35 min wait, so I decided to go for a walk instead of waiting at one of the tables outside. I came back a little later than this & they kept the food warm for me. There is a small surchage when you pay by card which is shown on the eftpos machine. I didn't get to eat it until I drove back to Brissie. We didn't need to heat the food up because it was still warm. Generous potion sizes and authentic taste. The curries included plain white rice (no yellow colouring added) in the price. The butter chicken was a bit sweet for me. My partner enjoyed it. The goat curry was tasty. The bones added to the flavour. It was hot (but not overly spicy) just like I ordered. We shared the cheese and garlic naan. It was big and cheesy. There could've been more garlic in it. My partner finished his curry while I ate half of mine. I finished it the next day and it was still tasty. I received friendly service. Would...
Read moreI’m sorry but I have to say …. We used to order from here often and hadn’t in a while due to our last disappointment . We tried to give it another go tonight and it was a massive disappointment again. Waited 1h and a half firstly to get the food, two curries 3 naans and an entree . The entree we received in a box drenched in oil so drenched the box was tearing ,the oil was leaking out of the takeout Bag… the entrees were wet and soggy when meant to crispy … the curry sauce was not so bad but the rice tasted like tap water and cheap rice … which ruined the whole dish… the naan was soggy and burnt …. Could only taste the burnt …Had to pop it all in the oven when we got home (10 min away )to try and crisp it up and warm up the curry. But in the end was it just a waste for 70$! I don’t understand why the food was not even warm when we had been waiting so long ? I can understand business but quality should be a must especially with that kind of wait time! Unfortunately this will be the last...
