Hotel Burgwald — Hotel in Gemeinde Lech

A group of us made the Burgwald home for several nights while we hiked the Lechweg Trail. This hotel could not have been more perfect for us! It was a treat each evening to ‘escape’ to the quiet of this hotel overlooking the Austrian Alps and the town of Lech. The rooms were exceptionally comfortable with wonderful views of the surrounding Alps. Each morning, we started with the included breakfast of meats, cheeses, fresh made juice, wonderful coffee, and eggs to order. This was in addition to breads, fruits, cereals, yogurts, etc. We did have dinner at the Burgwald on several occasions and that was just as wonderful. We made use of the outstanding spa, which was well appointed and much appreciated after long hikes – definitely made the next day’s hike easier on the muscles! What truly made our stay exceptional were Johanna and her team! They were always interested in helping us to get the most of our vacation with suggestions, answering our questions, and helping arrange things by phone for us when the language barrier was a challenge with other area businesses. Johanna and her group speak wonderful English! If you visit the Burgwald, be sure to ask about the afternoon “Poppy Seed Cake” (Excellent!)...

We stayed at Hotel Burgwald for a week in late February 2025 and absolutely loved every moment of it. First of all, Oberlech is the perfect place to stay in this region—beautiful, serene, and home to fantastic hotels and restaurants. The hotel provides high-quality sleds for the kids, who had an absolute blast riding all the way down to Lech and taking the cabin lift back up.

Hotel Burgwald itself is a charming, intimate retreat with an incredibly warm and service-oriented staff. Breakfast was a daily highlight—fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. We also enjoyed a few delightful dinners at the hotel, including a special celebration for my wife’s birthday. The team went above and beyond, even surprising us with a lovely bottle of sparkling wine on the house.

Very comfortable small hotel, with super friendly staff. Hotel is very new and therefore fresh comfortable rooms, comfortable beds, crispy clean sheets, lots of storage room in for bathroom toiletries and for your clothes. Sufficient plugs for chargers. The hotel is suburb located for ski in and out and has beautiful views. Although located near other hotels with apres ski facilities, this hotel itself is quiet, giving you the best of both worlds. The hotel service includes transport of rental ski gear to and from the skishop and transport of luggage yo and from the gondel.
