I booked the Radisson 9 months in advance of the Austrian GP - you do need to book at least that far out and I am so glad our family was able to be accommodated! Myself, husband and teenage son had adjoining rooms, as that was the best option for comfort and space for 4 nights with lonnnnng days and I wouldn’t have chosen differently because the rooms aren’t huge (though clean, modern and nicely appointed). Service was friendly, everything was new and clean, and location was superb - across the street from the Graz train station, which is where you catch both the train and the direct shuttles to the race, depending on your selection. The neighborhood felt safe with some cafes, nail and other beauty salons, etc. all within walking distance. ||The only drawbacks (and these were minimal for our purposes, but maybe would matter more under different circumstances): First, despite a pretty robust, free buffet breakfast, the restaurant features only a small menu of pizzas and snacks for lunch/dinner and there is no room service (although you can order and bring up to your room). Our last night after the race, the chef was sick and the restaurant wasn’t serving food, which was a bummer but probably an anomaly. Second, you have to request housekeeping if you would like your room serviced more than once/three days, which they try to tout as a green initiative but feels more aligned with cost cutting. ||Overall, I highly recommend the Raddison from the standpoint of race weekend - your hotels in Spielberg and immediately surrounding areas are going to be super limited and Graz is your next best option - this hotel is a...
Read more3 stars. Minus 2 stars for the breakfast and parking lot. Let's start with the breakfast: it's ok but I've been in many more hotels around Europe with the same standard that offer more variety. There is no even simple salad leaves and bread is just one for the entire hotel. Yes, there is loaf of bread and if you are lucky to be early you might take a slice. I asked lady for more bread but she said there is only one. Great- one loaf of bread for hundreds of guests per day. Rest is bread rolls of white dough that get stale very quickly. They are also very slow replenishing food on trays.
Now the car park: it's small but it's secured in the basement but how they manage it is a shamble. First they motorcycles park on place of cars. One motorcycle takes entire parking space. Instead they could be parked by the wall and free up some space as there is not many of them. I complained about it to the reception and told me they will inform owners but they never did. Some owners park their cars taking up 2 places and still reception didn't do anything about it. But the worst is that even if you pay for parking you still are not guaranteed parking space! During my stay I took a trip by car outside Graz but when returned they told me car park is full and I will have to park on the street (reception told me they will refund the money). I think there should be better car park management than what...
