I stayed here for a night last weekend. The location is very central, on a quiet street near the shops and cafes in Leoben, and a 30 minute drive from the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg.|Check in was quick and efficient and the the receptionist was very welcoming. |My 3rd floor room was very spacious and clean with ample storage space and a large desk. There was also a pleasant, but small, balcony looking out over the courtyard. The ensuite was clean with a powerful shower, but not enough towels provided although the receptionist didn't agree with me when I asked if I could have an extra one! |The bed was comfortable able, however the lack of Aircon in the room was a major drawback- it was a very hot day (34°) and stayed warm at night during a long thunder storm meaning either melt, or leave the window open and flood the room!|Breakfast was food- standard continental fayre with plenty of choice.|Overall a good basic hotel but the Aircon issue would certainly stop me from returning...
Read moreThe only positive I can say about this place is it's clean. A very old fashioned hotel, ugly rooms and bathrooms. I was surprised I was given a single bed (why just a single bed in a room this big?!). Parking outside is paid and limited.
I arrived at 9:45pm and the reception was closed. There was a note for me that I would have to call a number (which is also the number for emergencies). Called 4 times, no answer. So I was there tired from a trip and couldn't get to the hotel. At some point a lady called very angry about me not showing up on time! I said I really didn't care about the reception being closed, just wanted to pick up my keys and go to bed. To my surprise she said she didn't care either and my reservation was cancelled! Because I didn't show up or didn't call before 8pm.
Yeah. Top customer service, not doing that again... And people, if you have urgency please CALL and don't send emails.
PS: oh hey! They give us free chocolate!...
Read moreLeoben is a small university town sitting in a bend of the Mur river, so nothing is far away. The hotel is a small block away from the central square and a few minutes walk form the University.||The Kindler is a simple hotel without much services.||Rooms are simple but very clean. The room and especially the bathroom was nicely renovated apparently a few years ago. The internet was much better than in many fancy hotels (ask for a ticket at the reception). The hotel does not have a restaurant, only a small bar for a Gösser (a locally brewed pilsener beer). A parking lot for about 7-8 cars at the courtyard. Leave the car there and walk!||The staff was very friendly and helpful.||A nice and reasonably priced stay for two nights.||||BTW: there is a huge modern Spa with several swimming pools, saunas etc. only 10 minutes walk; nearest restaurant a few tens of meters from the hotel door and an uncountable number of beer bars in...
