My husband was born in Austria and grew up in Leoben. This hotel is awful. The beds are good, the rooms are clean, the breakfast is decent and the location is quiet. ||It was probably 3 am, and I'd had enough. I reached for a phone to call the front desk but there was no phone. I dressed and went downstairs for help, but no one was there. I checked the refrigerator, not it, opened the window, turned off the air-conditioner, not it. I went back to bed and stacked again as many pillows as could be found over my head to cover my ears as much as possible but got no relief. There was a sound, a terrible intermittent sound lasting the night long and into the morning. A sound that is probably still there. A low tonal vibration for five seconds every 30 seconds. A relentlessly, tortuously, repetitive noise loud enough to penetrate the pillows, penetrate the mind, and drive a sane person mad. And on and on and on, and when it was possible to inform the front desk, an arrogant, little snip had the temerity to take me outside onto the sidewalk, outside onto the street, point to an exterior placard placed as advertisement, and said "this is a number I should have called". Yeah right, go outside the hotel with the security doors closing behind me at three in the morning to by chance find a number to call? Do not stay at this hotel. There are other hotels in Leoben where I have stayed and been treated nicely and respectfully and given the chance for a night's sleep without torture and a rude response....
Read moreStayed at the Hotel Kongress for business, which the rooms are the major disappointment of the whole stay. I arrived when the weather was 26-32 Celsius outside and the rooms were 10 Celsius higher than outside with no air conditioning I never got more than 4 hrs of sleep each night due to the heat. ||I was waken up most morning by construction staff around the back of the property, I understand that this is out of the hotels control but most years there has always been the problem of noises outside because of needing the windows open. One morning I was awaken at 0530 from a roofer working with a butane flame next to the hotel! All my colleagues have the same problem of being woken up early and being left uncomfortable due to the high heat within their rooms.|| ||The beds are okay and not terrible, the shower in the bathroom requires second thought by the owner as the doors open out to the sink and toilet leaving around 30cm to actually get into the small shower cubicle. ||||Staff are very helpful and great! They’re the only good thing...
Read moreStayed few nights while visiting Leoben in business on November.||There are only few hotels in Leoben and hotel Kongress is one of them. Hotel itself is situated in a good spot athe city-center and the price that we got was good.||Rooms in the hotel differ quite a lot and the new ones looked tempting.
