I've spent nearly 18 years admiring the location and the views inside the Hotel Liebe Sonne. Having always spent my stays in a guesthouse/apartment, this was my first time staying at a hotel in Solden. I had booked via Booking.com and as i was traveling solo, I booked a single person room. ||||My stay was inclusive of breakfast and dinner. Because I arrived late on my first night, after dinner service, I was pleasantly surprised that in correspondence that the hotel would be making me a cold plate of deli cuts, cheeses and fresh bread rolls sitting in my room upon my late 10 PM arrival. As reception is closed by 9 PM, i was able to easily pickup my room key from the barkeeper in the lobby and effortlessly made my way to the parking garage and to my room. ||||Upon first full day, i first checked in which was smooth and pleasant and provided the usual resort town bits of information. After checkin I made my way to the restaurant and was blown away by the selection of breakfast, the eggs cooked to order, the seating/setting arrangements and the service by the staff. In speaking of the food service, dinner was even more amazing. Impeccable even. The service is top notch that matches some Michelin restraunts i have visited. Staff attentative, polite and welcoming. Additionally, the meals provided were exceptional. My two full dinners were night one's Mediterranean/Italian themed buffet, while the second night was a selection of ala carte items. Again, service, setting and food was phenomenal and beyond my expectation really. ||||As for the room, As a simple solo traveler I'm pretty easy to please as long as I have a clean room, clean bathroom, windows and power outlets. Again, I was surprised by what the hotel offers, even in the single rooms. I had a mini fridge, which actually was stocked with mini bar drinks, comfy single bed, shower/bathtub, seating area an table and most awesome of all for me, a balcony that provided 200 degrees plus of valley and mountain views! Excitement and joy, as i love being able to watch thing abuzz around me.||||What sets this hotel apart from many though is of course, location. It's near the Giggijoch gondola and being within 100 or so meters of the gondola means easy on-off access throughout the day and your entire stay. As my trip was for Bike Republic, it allowed me to take breaks from between runs and go back to my room for a quick recharge. The location is perfect, if you are keen to going up and down the mountain during your stay.||||Lastly, the hotel has a GREAT relaxation area on the 4th floor. A wonderfully warm indoor pool with plenty of lounging area provided and even a few that rest under heat lamps. What made me giddy was the outdoor area with sun tanning chairs, a couple cabanas and an outdoor whirlpool facing the Giggijoch!! Additionally, there is a kids play room with a few great things to occupy kids, a workout/weightroom if you are needing to keep up a certain fitness routine and sauna/massage area for even more relaxation. ||||Now Solden has been built up A LOT in recent years with 4* and even a 5* hotel. While i'm sure those hotels are equally lavish and great in service, I could not recommend enough the Hotel Liebe Sonne. It is a town staple, and no doubt has endured the test of time by providing superb service, cleanliness and friendliness. I say this place is worth your...
Read moreMy wife and I just spent one week ski holiday in the Hotel Liebe Sonne in March 2023.|Positive points:|Generally speaking this hotel is according to what we expected (we already experienced quite similar hotels in Tyrol).|Our room was big as well as the bath room.|Food at diner was generally good and dishes well presented. Breakfast was awesome with a lot of choices.|Special thanks to Janos in the dining room for utmost service and courtesy extended to us.|Also special thanks to Peter in the Finish sauna…👏 as he had dispensed special treatment with essential oils 2x times per day.| |Negative points:|Very negative one…our room (214 juniorsuite "Nederkogl") was facing the main road with direct noise impact from Après-ski lounges. The one called Fire and Ice was open till 03:00am..!! After the first short night (only 3 hours sleep) we mentioned the reception that we have been disturbed by the noise since our habit is to leave the windows slightly open. The receptionist answered with a touch of ironies that we should close the window and if not enough they can provide us with ear plug…I did not ask whether ear plugs were included in the 340.- euro/night room package…! anyway she said there was no possibilities to change room on the quiet side since the house was fully booked. Then ok we accepted it (apparently no choice) and we spent the following nights with windows closed and even the veranda sliding room closed. However some nights we wake up after 3AM to open the windows in oder to avoid sufficing...|We had the chance to talk at the bar with some very regular customers who said that they faced such situation on their first stay and been moved mountain side. They also mentioned that the front desk should not allocate rooms facing street to customers spending that much nights as we did (7 nights). For that price customers deserve quiet and relax nights.||Another bad point was the non respect of silence and tranquility by some group of males in the sauna area. Some of them have been using cell phones and talking loud and some others jumping into the jacuzzi. They were also using the sauna area as a meeting room to share their ski experience of the day.||Overall saying I would recommend this hotel but make sure about room allocation at the...
Read moreWe had a wonderful stay in hotel Liebe Sonne for ski vacation in Sölden:||- location: 50 meters from the Giggijoch cable car that brings you up to the ski area; you can ski back to the hotel (this is a rather difficult ski piste - not for beginners) but you can also come back down with the cable car. Perfect location for skiing in Sölden.||- rooms: very nice rooms; we had 2 connecting rooms for a family of 4 people, good size of the rooms, modern, good beds, big bathroom with bath and shower, separate toilet, a lot of space to put all the clothes and with a heated bench to dry clothes.||- restaurant: very nice buffet breakfast with a lot of choices, healthy, espresso/cappucino coffee machines, fresh orange juice, eggs, etc. all you want ! For dinner: great food as well, choice of 3 main dishes, very good salad buffet, very good food nicely prepared. I especially want to thank the staff for taking good care of our allergies, nothing was too much asked and they allways proposed alternatives if some dish was not possible due to an allergy. Super friendly service, nothing too much asked, really unique to feel that we were taking care of without any problems.||- spa/pool area: wonderful spa area with view on the mountains, good swimming pool inside and outside for the entire family, family sauna, nice rest area with thee; then also a separate adults only wellness area with different sauna's, infra red cabin, steam room, etc. (naked area). This was recently added and is a very nice modern facility with also very good massages for a good price.||- ski room: convenient ski room with separate lockers for each room (heated shoes).||||In conclusion: this is a super hotel, coveniently located next to the Giggijoch cable car, very friendly service at check-in/-out and in restaurants, great rooms, wonderful spa/pool area. What a great week we had - we will...
