Hotel Himmelreich — Hotel in Wals-Siezenheim

My children and I stayed here for a week whilst exploring Salzburg. So glad I chose it. We had a really spacious family room. Bright, spotless and newly refurbished. More storage than I’ve ever had in a hotel, large balcony with table and chairs (and a view of the mountains) and a new bathroom with powerful spacious shower! ||It’s 4 star and family run and they all really care about their guests. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We arrived early and could check in straight away. (11.30!), we didn’t fly home til 7pm, but they stored our luggage and provided space to change before we left.||Hotel has a beautiful garden with loads of loungers and an outdoor natural swimming pool. Weather wasn’t good for us for a lot of the time, but when it was this was a wonderful way to relax after a busy day sightseeing. (We all swam) There is also a sauna and steam room which was a lovely alternative after a chilly wet day exploring! Towels for this are all provided, as are robes in your room (and umbrellas!!) ||Breakfast is served in a lovely conservatory overlooking the gardens. (And outside on hot days). It was delicious with so much choice and fresh eggs cooked to order as you requested. Def no queuing or grabbing over cooked food here!!!||It was only about 15 mins from the heart of the city centre on a very clean efficient bus service, (number 10) that runs every 10 mins and is a 3 minute walk from the hotel. Plus public transport is free for hotel guests during your stay. (The hotel sorted the passes for us). Travelling with kids I deliberately chose the slightly further out location so that we had chill out time, a more spacious room and the garden / pool and it worked perfectly. ||It’s also very handy for the airport (although no noise at all) and right by an indoor “designer outlet” shopping centre - which if you are there a while and like a mooch round the shops was a great place to spend an hour or so.||Would def recommend the hotel Himmelreich, we had a fabulous stay, loved the city and the hotel made it a very relaxing break - which as a sole parent holidaying with 2 x 11 year olds isn’t...

We were there for 1 night before our flight so of course we chose this hotel. ||Pros:|Excellent location close to the airport: |3-5 minutes by car|Or close to the bus station to the airport|Or a 10-15 minutes walk||Very Good Room:|Spacious|Totally quiet (and we are rather picky with this issue): not a sound, not from the neighbors, not from the corridor nor the elevator, no planes, nothing, Perfect!|Firm mattress|Good pillows|These 3 pros allowed us a very good sleep which at our age is not easy to get|Thanks!!||Kettle with tea, coffee|Plenty of electrical sockets for your devices to charge||Shower: |Very hot (if you like it, and we did)||Breakfast|Superb, you cab even find smoked salmon||Parking|Enough spaces available, would you need to return your rental to the airport branch||Bus station to the center of Salzburg, just a 3 minutes walk to the bus stop|And the fare is free as included in the local tax paid with the room. ||The staff:|Helpful and smiling||Cons:|We would have liked more lamps and better light in the room in the evening, and a stronger stream in the shower |The cost of the room is not cheap but this hotel is worth it||Bottom line:|I give a 5* rating for the location, the quality of the breakfast, and especially the quality...
