Stayed randomly during a weekend when they were having HOG rally 2019. Despite it being quite loud outside due to the bands, people, fireworks etc the room actually stayed pretty quiet. I had some vent in my room which was kinda acting as a speaker for the band outside. It wasn't terrible but it was constant. If not for the bands it would be extremely quiet. Rooms were kinda cool. Still set up with Monastery style looking furniture except all new. Bed was ok. Only real problem I had was not being able to connect my laptop to the internet. My phone did right away but couldn't even get my laptop to work with the employee wifi. They tried to help it just didn't work out. They were very friendly. Breakfast was ok. I used the airport shuttle pickup. It cost me 55 byn to the hotel plus a tip to the driver. On the way out they reserved me a cab and it was only 35 byn....Hotel is walking distance to everything. Perfect location at top of Old Town. I even walked to the market which took about 30 mins. Wasn't bad and you go by the opera house. All in all...
Read moreIf you are visiting Minsk for tourism then the location of this hotel is simply excellent. Located in the old town with easy access to all the sights, the river area, restaurants and bars. The streets surrounding are mainly for pedestrians with churches and historic buildings including the Monastery Hotel itself. The rooms are comfortable and the staff are very helpful, going out of their way to help if you need anything. We were considering staying at the Minsk Hotel, glad we stayed here instead as the location is far superior. There is some noise from the bars near by at the weekend, although it could not be heard from the main building or bedroom which has thick walls and insulated windows. The hotel is very quiet in general being an old monastery. Breakfast included and served until 11am which is a bonus. Would stay here again if ever back in Minsk which we found to be an interesting city with friendly people who are happy to try our their English. Well...
Read moreMy friend in Minsk referred me to this hotel, and suggested that it was a better location than the Western hotels that are down the street. It was a great recommendation. This hotel is nestled into a great area near the main Orthodox cathedral of Minsk. There are quite a few restaurants and a night life surrounding it. Yet it was very quiet. There are bus stops and the central metro station nearby--it is easy to get around! The room was fairly large by European standards--it felt like a Western hotel in that regard. The bed was extremely comfortable. I was here at an ideal time--a warm fall--so I can't comment on A/C or heat as I did not need either one. It looked like it was centrally controlled. The breakfast was superb, with lots of options. The price was very cheap for the quality of the accommodations. If I have one suggestion for improvement, it is better lighting in...
