Our stay was extremely disappointing and we left angry. Located right next to the airport, the noise of planes waking you up in the morning is really irritating. Although the property is advertised with showers, it is just cold showers which if we knew we would have never stayed- I blame this for my cold I’m still recovering from which very nearly prevented me from completing my scuba dive certification.. |I would also say the place isn’t kept clean and tidy regularly. Dirty, smelly lavatories without toilet tissue and hand towels and dirty underwear lying around is just disgusting.|The place needs looking after properly and keep up to date. Nails sticking out of a frame of a bed frame and poor workmanship everywhere you look. It’s messy, untidy and neglected.|But even though all the above I could live with there is no excuse for how management treats their customers. When I’ve asked for suggestion on best time to take a shower oblivious there is no hot water, the owner said rudely the water is supplied only cold and if I want hot shower I need to upgrade. When I argued I should have been informed that’s the case he replied I should have checked his website. I have booked through booking.com and there is no mention of this. The owner is arrogant and rude to his customers and even said to my partner he doesn’t care about us leaving a bad review.|The worst for last. Wednesday night is the ladies night which takes place on the ground floor of the hostel which is on the first floor. The music is deafening, seriously it’s just noise! There is no way you can get a shut eye even if you use ear plugs. The room literally vibrates. After asking the owner how does he expect us to sleep in such noise polluted place he refused to speak to me, saying I’m unreasonable and only willing to talk to my partner. My partner got a key to the hotel which is part of this business, located across the street. Whilst we appreciated this I find it outrageous the way I have been treated and the fact that the owner just puts his hostel customers in this situation and waits if anyone will complaint. We have made a mistake of booking this place for 5 nights and it literally spoilt or vacation. It’s a total trap because you can’t cancel your booking once you realise how bad it is. What a disgrace of a business. Don’t be a fool and...
Read moreI have travelled all over the world staying in Hostels and this one is by far the worst!||||Cold/dirty showers, rude owner, right next to airport, Wednesday night party till 2am!||||We booked a twin room, which was ok, small but what you'd expect from a hostel. The bathroom is in terrible condition see pictures. The water was cold, when we asked at reception if there was a better time to use it, the owner shouted abuse at us, telling us the website stated no hot water. As we booked through booking.com i'd expect it to be listed here, not up to me to check the hostels website. In fact checking the inns website I couldn't find anything that mentioned cold showers.||||Wednesdays, they have a huge party called ladies night. The bar below the hostel plays loud music from 9-10pm until at least 2am. This made every part of of room vibrate. We complained to the management and they let us sleep in the hostels room across the road, where we could still here the music but as least our room wasn't vibrating.||||Every morning from about 7am (6am on Sat) loud propeller planes take off past the back of the hostel, so no luck with a lay in. ||||The general state of the place looks poor, and in need of renovation. On their website and on booking.com they list the hostel as having 2 pools, but one was closed and the other didn't look inviting so we didn't use them, or see anyone else using them.||||Quite a walk to the town, cira 15 mins. Not a nice area to walk home when it's dark.||||Very disappointed overall, would have been ok with most things if the owner hadn't been so rude to us on each occasion we me him. On the other hand all the other staff were very pleasant.||||If you don't believe my review read other peoples, I wish we had before we made...
Read morePedro's is all set up to be a great budget hotel. Its a short walk from downtown. The neighborhood can be noisy but that is standard for Belize and did not bother me at all. The rooms were simple but were clean and had plenty of space. There is NO lock on the doors from the inside. For that reason I only stayed one night. I did not notice until 8pm (desk was closed) of my first night that the door lock didn't latch. I found a PVC pipe that could be used to jam the door shut, which would be a great backup to a functioning door lock. I looked for staff to ask about fixing the lock or changing rooms and I was told none of the doors have locks and the PVC pipe is it. It was too late to change hotels and I had a group of men watched me go into my room, joking "i'll be your security guard". Its was unnerving. When the PVC pipe is placed, the door still opens about 1/2" and can be tiled to open about 1", wide enough to pry it open all the way with some force. I was thankful to get a refund for my second night and did not stay there. Both Megan at the front desk and Diane at the bar were amazing and very understanding. I told the owner Peter about this afterwards but he has yet to respond and I found reviews from back in 2017 detailing the same concern. Seems like he is in no rush to fix it. Unless locks are put on the doors in the inside of the rooms, I cannot recommend staying here. Especially as a solo female traveler. I hope Peter makes this necessary ASAP and then this would be an ideal budget hotel on San Pedro.||||I have attached photos of how much to door can be opened when "locked"...
