I had booked a three day stay at this hostel and could not have been more dissapointed to a point where i left after one night. The staff is untrained, the rooms seem like they were once very small, narrow offices. The bathroom door is a plástic cover that doesnt really make much of a difference. They charge for breakfast even though the asking price is higher than most places, even more than Ipanema's Beach Hostel in Rio de Janeiro, one of the most expensive neighborhoods not only in Brasil but the world.
I had explained my concerns in a civil manner to the owner, but only received a condescending response where he mocked me for saying "i dont aim to insult but simply saying im not satisfied" and told me i should have done more research about what a hostel is, even though i had informed him i had been staying in hostels in North-east region of Brasil for almost a month, touring far more expensive cities such as Fortaleza, Natal, João Pessoa, Recife during carnaval which is typically very expensive due to the amount of tourists, Salvador, and several other little beach towns.
I wasnt going to write a review online but the owner's response to my critiques was so childish, unable to own up to his business' flaws that it bothered me even more than the stay itself. Instead of saying "we will do our best to better our business" i got "we do everything right and you dont know what youre talking about".
I spent a little more, and stayed at a decent beach side hotel for only R$20 more, even knowing that my money wouldnt...
Read moreSimple inn, very clean and comfortable. No frills. About two blocks from the beach. Near lots of restaurants, stores, shops. I needed a bed, a hot shower and a bathroom. That is what I got. I will definitely return many times. For what I saved on my lodging, I easily afforded to splurge in nice places for lunch and supper. The husband and wife owners are very pleasant and respectful. I enjoyed...
