The Nobile Hotel Copacabana Design in Rio de Janeiro has 2 good things going for it. It is very close to the beach and at least the 2 rooms we had on 2 different floors were very clean. Rooms are not large, the bed and 1 chair just fit in the room. Me and my wife could not walk around the bed side by side anywhere in the room. The Beds were square and very hard. Not a lump or soft spot in them. The pillows we had were a combination of one extra firm and the other became as flat as a sheet of paper once you laid on it. The TV that was on the opposite wall is not for those with seeing deficiencies. The wall slot made for a TV was huge but I did not know they made TV’s that small anymore. I think it was 21inch maybe a little bigger. There was no blanket when we arrived I had to ask for 2 from the reception and they looked at me funny when I did so. The bed just came with a Top Sheet. The bathroom like I mentioned before smelled the clean scent of bleach and ammonia, the smell you wish in a hotel bathroom. The towels were clean but they need to buy new ones. They had been washed so many times their were no fibers left on large cloths to actually dry yourself with. The bathroom ventilation was also so poor nothing would dry in their if you hung up the towels so needed to get new ones everyday. Breakfast—well lets say yes they do serve breakfast but don’t plan to eat a good one to get your day started right. A bunch of little sweet stuff, watery scrambled eggs, some fresh fruits. Water they say is filtered but it smelled so did not drink it. I got a cup of team brought to me and the water was cold (not cold as the tea say too long, cold as the water was never heated up). The staff---Here I have some split. Cleaning staff was wonderful and helpful. They were always happy and joyful and did a great job. Reception is where there is a large shift, one of the guys there was very good and nice and helpful with all questions (even if he did give me and my son a bad suggestion for lunch “Mr. Capao”-if you not Brazillian stay away from this place—yuck). One of the ladies an older woman with glasses was just rude and very unhelpful. She did not even try, when we asked her something she rolled her eyes like I was an idiot (probably am but she should pretend I am not 😊 ) Overall for the price you get a close location to the beach and during the day it is relatively safe to walk around. Would I stay here again, probably not now that I have seen what...
Read moreI will try to summarize my whole experience … this is bay way way to far THE WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE I’VE ever had. From the front desk and their employees to the rooms and infrastructure, to be honest this property should be demolished and they should fire everyone (who lacks from professionalism) the photos aren’t close to reality, my first impression was when I got lost and tried to call the property (they answered and said “this is not a hotel” and the immediately hung up on me) the second attempt to make a good impression was when the rude lady from the front desk refuse to provided the wifi information, and never proportioned other information such as parking, I’ve spend 1 night on 1104 and 706 (I believe) you can tell which one is more stuffy, mild dew everywhere, linen stained and almost transparent, to the point that I didn’t want it to put my head on any of the pillows, the bathroom was so NASTY, SO NASTY, that a Road Motel will be significantly cleaner that them, there was hair on the towel hanger, WC stained of mildew, walls, there wasn’t a corner where you cannot see it, spend the most horrible two nights of my life, and I couldn’t request the refund to the third party because the rude lady refused to provide the wifi, had asthma attacks and requested hot water for a tea and surprisingly there wasnt cups, stirs, nothing! So I called FD a little of hot water and they refused to provide it instead they said to use THE NESPRESSO MACHINE (unbelievable). But the top of the cherry is that by the time I finally managed to reserved in a HOTEL CHAIN the front desk manager FELIPE very polite and explicitly said that I will get a full refund, (20 days later I’m still waiting for it). Don’t get fooled by his politeness, he will lie to your face with no regret. Perhaps he will dispute my review saying that I never stayed in his hotel. (Like he did on previews reviews). Believe me the photos are WAY TOOO FAR FROM REALITY!!! This property shouldn’t be included in a 1 -2 or 3 star hotel, it is definitely A SCAM, tricky publicity, photoshopped photos. And I’m taking the time to write this review because no one should reserved and get scammed by...
Read moreAlbeit some remarks of reviewers here of receptionists being unhelpful etc, I think in my case it was quite the opposite. After talking to them nicely and making an effort to speak in Portuguese and Spanish, they were able to help me with checking in smoothly. The hotel is very strict with Check-in times hence patience is very much needed since all their rooms are booked. The hotel is also in a good spot since it’s just a stone throw away from Avenida Atlántica and the Cardeal metro station. Also, über transport is very much utilized here and safe. All in all, a very relaxing, educating and a fulfilling introduction to Brazil and the Latin american continent. ||Room is clean and the sheets are comfortable. There is no quilt so just make sure to turn on the timer as it can become very cold.||It’s just a short walk to the beach and food stores are nearby. My favorite is the BigBi where they sell cozinha and chivitos for quick bite. There’s also a metro station in front of the hoteL.||Ample amount of police in the area but just make sure to dress down and not wear any jewelry. The place is also flood lit with lights||Good starting point for a walk traversing Rua Barata Ribeiro until you reach Rua Siqueira and then take a left turn to reach Nossa Senhora de Copacabana and back. Lots of souvenir shops in the area||Buy the drinks from the nearby convenience stores, Pão de Açucar or the Zona sul. Look for restaurants offering Buffet a Kilo||The hotel had a renovation in their reception area so it’s more improved and I think they are preparing for more visitors in the next few weeks. By the way, I’d like to thank the receptionist (the pregnant lady) I forgot to ask her name but she really did made sure I can check in earlier since she saw me so jet-lagged and tired after having a 20+ hours of travelling from the middle east. Thank you so much dear if you are...
