It's ok. The 4 stars are fading somewhat in the night sky, but hey - who knows what the criteria are? It's one of those hotels (and I've stayed in many) where your experience depends on the person in reception when you arrive. Unfortunately I got the wrong guy, but after that it get better. It's comfy enough, but it needs a re-furbish in the bathrooms - the shower was dying and the bath tub itself had no plug (so you couldn't use it). Air Con was noisy, but they always are. The breakfast was decent, although I can't see the point of having bread and no toaster. 4 stars? They could just buy a crappy toaster from down the road for 10 bucks. Easy. As they say, it's all in the details. The restaurant is pretty good though, and the area around the hotel is scruffy but friendly enough. ||The gym is tiny and ill-equipped - don't even contemplate it. I think the sauna works but you don't need a sauna. The running machine dates from the Victoria period I think. The splash pool is fine, up in the gods. So it's ok....and I wasn't paying, but the insistence of the guy on the desk that I had to pay up front (I was jet-lagged) and his refusal to accept my credit card as surety until the company paid the next day, was absurd. I was staying for 5 nights. Did he think I was going to do a runner? And so the websites that supply the hotel should inform the reservation process that you have to pay up front. ||Apart from that I quite enjoyed it in the end. But it needs a brush-up. And the two lady receptionists were great and really helpful. Don't let me give you the...
Read moreWe arrived there was no light in the building at all due to a problem in the area, it was 1 am. We asumed there was a regenerator or something. We had to go up 10 floors , with our bags and everything, im ok to do so but my mom is 68 years old and had a surgery done and cannot walk that much, so she had a lot of pain. People were very nice exept for the front desk manager Rolando, wich had a very bad attitud with us, we wanted to let them know that we paid for a full night and there was no power, internet, we couldnt charge our phones or anything. This Rolando was an unplacent, not listening to us, puting the blame on the rain. For a 4 star hotel this speaks awful about the service or atitud. Also had problem with the pool, with the safebox, the sheets were dirty. The guy that came to fix the things was very nice and polite, we had a laugh and everything. I think his name is Roque, shout out to this amazing worker!!!! the rest of the staff also was very nice, the breakfast buffet had everything, fresh and yummy! I would say maybe for future to put someone at the front desk that knows how to treat and listen to costumers since is the first person you see when you go inside the building, i travelled a lot and it never happend that you pay for a service, that is not given and the manager hotel doent even try to do...
Read moreOur stay was for one night, we were moved rooms 2 times because the air con did not work. We waited 2 hours for a call back and ended up moving rooms the last time at 12pm and it was still too hot. We waited 2 hours for a call back about our room change, when we called to follow up the receptionist suggested that the delay was due to having to get approval to upgrade the room as the only one they had was a slight upgrade. The phone barely worked so calling down was hit or miss as to whether it actually collected. When they finally told us we could move again at 12pm the new room wasn’t even cold- nobody had checked the ac even worked, just like the previous room they moved us to. They made us wait 1 hour in the lobby to check in even though we arrived after the allotted check in time, they gave us no information and breakfast and therefore we missed it. None of their card machine worked with our cards and they tried to make us go and get our cash until we insisted they just run the numbers through like they did to take our hold. We emailed about all of this in late March and they never once responded to us. The worst customer service we came across in...
