GoodStay São Paulo Ibirapuera — Hotel in Região Imediata de São Paulo

I'm surprised to see so many positive reviews of this hotel. The only positives for us were that the hotel is in a good location near Ibirapuera Park, & they let us park our car for free in one of the spots in front of the hotel. As for our actual stay, this was one of the most disappointing hotel stays I have ever had. The first room we got smelled strongly of urine. The bed sheets were stained with black & brown stains, & when we pulled the covers back on the bed, there were several hairs all over the bedsheets. We told the front desk staff, & he gave us a new room. The new room had over 30 flies in the bathroom since the windows had been left open. The mattress was so uncomfortable that we both woke up in pain the next morning. When we were leaving for breakfast, the door knob to the room was jammed & we couldn’t get out of the room for 10 minutes. We messaged the hotel on WhatsApp & a staff member had to come to let us out. The breakfast area seemed unsanitary as they were making omelettes and sandwiches in dirty-looking pans, & the cereal was stale. There are some other reviews on Booking.com where other guests had similar experiences with stained sheets, insects, the breakfast area, & door knobs...

Absolute nightmare. Stole our clothes, had to pay 800RS to get them back a MONTH later.

Day 1: the room was infested with ants The staff just wiped up the ants with paper towels; no insecticide, no change of room, no real fix.

Day 5: things in the bathroom stopped working, and we had to CHANGE ROOMS and move everything over.

Day 6: we were told laundry takes "1 to 2 days". FIVE days later, we were still asking for our clothes back. We got our laundered clothes back literally minutes before check out and needing to leave the city.

When we arrived back home, it was clear about half of our laundry items were MISSING. It took a month of back and forth communication with the hotel and 800RS(!!!) to get our clothes shipped back.

Even then, some clothes were still missing, but at this point we've given up.

Some staff is polite, most staff is quite rude. All staff is, unfortunately, not very competent / not much clue what to do or...

I had booked a single room with breakfast included. The room was small, not a place you want to stay during the day, but it was clean and had everything for staying overnight. The WLAN worked well. (This is not a "big chain hotel", but a nice individual small place to stay.) The breakfast was nice, and they freshly prepared omeletts or other delicious food. The staff was absolutely friendly and very helpful, they really help you with everything needed. They let me keep the room until the evening (my flight was late in the evening) to let my luggage there and to take a shower before I had to leave. The location was good. It is quite centrally located, and you can easily walk to the Ibirapuera Park and enjoy the landscape and the (hopefully) good weather. For me, it was a nice hotel where I would stay again if I would come back...
