I was booked at Monreale Lifestyle Higienopolis for a seminar at University of Sao Paulo for 3 nights but ended up changing hotels/not even staying 1 night. My principal problems were the non-functioning Internet, the lack of an on-site restaurant and the fact that the staff don't speak any English (which was quite challenging as I don't speak any Portuguese). The area where the hotel is located also didn't seem the safest (which was all the more concerning since I would have had to leave the property to get lunch and dinner). My room itself was quite small and not well lit with no real work area. There was no duvet or blanket so I ended up covering up with my coat for extra warmth for a quick nap (I arrived very early in the morning). Read moreI paid a lot for this place,( R$235 per night) and it did not deliver. My local rep made the reservation. Rooms are small and dated, absolutely barren. Lousy TV. Power went out (only in the hotel) for one hour for no apparent reason. Worst problem is that the internet was down the whole two days. "Don't worry we are working on it" Hah!
