Despite being in an excellent location, having a really nice simple decor and great breakfast with lots of variety for the price I wasn’t happy with my stay. Initially I thought that because of its proximity to Augusta street and all its bars and clubs it would be noisy but in fact I couldn’t hear any street noise at all so that’s another plus. The big problem is that because it is a budget hotel through and through corners were cut in construction so the walls are paper thin and that means that you can hear absolutely everything people in the rooms on either side of yours are saying or doing. I could also hear people in the room opposite to mine through the ventilation duct talking loudly and singing up until 1am everyday. It became unbearable at one point when the room next door decide to listen to music loudly at 6am! I asked reception to change rooms but there were none available. I eventually cancelled my reservation after 3 nights - I had a 12 nights reservation - and the receptionist initially charged me for an extra night which after I pointed it out to her the mistake was promptly rectified. I paid with a debt card and 3 days went on and I hadn’t received a refund. I called the hotel and talked to someone who said the request was sent to the finance department and she took my email address and promised to send me an update. A week went by and no updates were received. I called the hotel again and this time I talked to someone who seemed to know what she was doing. She asked for my details and the refund request form number. She found out the refund request was never sent to their finance department and it was indeed lost so she asked me to scan my copy and email it to her and then she would take care of it. I did just that and 4 days later I had received my refund. The whole process took a long time. My impression is that they employ a lot of people that are not ready to work there and usually the reception staff is not friendly either. They are polite but not friendly and not helpful with few exceptions. Management should improve and look to hire more capable people to work in hospitality.|I don’t recommend this hotel if you are wary about excessive noise and want a good nights sleep and I will certainly never...
Read moreGreat location , 10 minutes from avenida paulista and 10 minutes from republica, despite being in an area behind Rua Augusta, it is very very quiet hotel with good soundproofing in the windows especially. At the right price this hotel is a great option for anyone wanting to walk home from a night out nearby, or staying overnight for 1 or 2 nights, I'm not sure if I would recommend a long term stay of more than a few days, the rooms are very comfortable but certainly very compact, you wouldn't be spending any time at all in the room, and there are other hotels in the area that will offer a more comfortable room with full buffett hot breakfeast. But this a very good budget hotel so all about the price. If you are unfamiliar with the area it can be intimidating, but on weekend evenings at nights the bars and restaurants are full and people are on the street so soak up the atmosphere. Unlimited number of restaurant options nearby. There are many rooms on many floors so there will be noise of people coming and going especially at weekend quite late, this is...
Read moreGenerally ok, but two aspects could be improved: first, a few items of the breakfast could be prepared with a bit more care, although generally it was good, only in some details, but nothing to really detract from it, and second, while some of the crew at the reception did welcome us well as expected, a few of them would not seem very happy or nice, either being almost rude while asking us to wait a moment, or not being very kind when we were checking if everything was ok during the checkout, as we were confirming that the breakfast was included on the reservation, although apparently it was not part of the reservation on the system. I think some training would be desirable to improve the level of services provided by the reception crew, emphasizing the importance of being open and nice...
