The hotel is new, very clean (bathroom spotless but small, no bath tub). There were||lots of electric outlets in the room. The 12 noon check-out time is great. The internet was strong when it worked, but there were periods of hours when it was down and my laptop in particular had a lot of problems some of which were aided by a friendly technician with whom I spent an hour on the phone at the front desk one afternoon. The staff at reception were friendly and helpful. A typical Brazilian breakfast (cost included with my room, otherwise R$27) was excellent, including the coffee. My room was very small. There was a short rod, maybe two feet long, with six hangers and a shelf, but no other place to put clothes. There was no place to put my suitcase except the floor and when I did that, I had essentially blocked the||bathroom door. There's a small fridge, but it was empty. There was not a single bottle of water nor a glass or cup of any kind in the room, let alone a coffee machine or kettle. The lobby area is rather eclectic and inviting with a bit of a beach theme, canvas chairs and hammocks and colourful rocking chairs but it was hard to find a comfortable place to sit just for a drink. Most chairs were at tables set up||with knives and forks as if you were expected to eat. There was no pool or fitness area. There is a large shopping mall in the Tatuape transit station with lots of||stores. I noticed even a bus to the airport. There's a long street called Tuiluti maybe 10 minutes walk away where one gets the real feel of Sao Paulo. For a night or two, this hotel is OK, but not for a...
Read moreI was bumped from a late night flight at GRU and went to the IBIS Grauluhos. After a half hour wait after midnight, they said they had no rooms available and said there were some at the IbisTatuape. I checked this twice with the desk clerk. Then, while waiting for an Uber, another client approached me and told me not to trust the clerks, that they had not called the other Ibis. She offered to speak with them and get them to call. ( I don't speak Portuguese well.) We went inside and the clerk looked at the computer and said there were rooms. I got to the Ibis Tatuape about 2am and the clerk said there were no rooms. I insisted that the other Ibis said there were rooms. He finally found one. No towels and 480BRL for the night - twice the normal price. I would write them for an explanation, but I don't see a means of contacted them on their we site. So, they get a...
Read moreRooms were fine, food was okay. The fridge in the room was too loud at night and hhf windows weren't very soundproofed as we could hear the nearby train line and traffic. The door cards didn't work several times despite reprogramming. Turned out to be empty batteries in the door lock. The main issue was that the TV in the dining room was showing excerpts from old horror/vampire movie Nosferatu and also naked adults. While I disliked it I would have accepted it. However, we had our 6 and 9 year old kids with us who should not have been exposed to that in a hotel. Our 6 year old son has suffered from severe nightmares since coming back and keeps referring to that hd saw in the hotel. Not acceptable. We told the guy at checkout about the non child-friendly programme on rotation but there was no real understanding how serious that is...
