Albena Resort — Hotel in Balchik

Really fantastic and exceptional resort. The whole area and the concept of the resort was developed before 1989. They put a lot of effords and weren't limited from resourses and money to create this place from scratch and even inluded a large wildlife sanctuary. Every hotel, green area or even the trees were considered and built or planned on purpose. The best thing is that concept of the resort is not changed in the recent years and the management of the resort sucrifice the profit in sone extend in order not to build new hotels in the green area between the existing hotels. There are at least 3 full size football fields, at least 10 tennis fields, dedicated place for riding horse, a lot of dedicated area for children. Fabulous holiday. What a beautiful place, with a wonderful clean sandy beach. The sea shore slopes gently into the sea, and is shallow water for quite a distance which is pleasant. The sunrise is lovely. If you are not one of the early swimmers you can paddle along the edge of the sea. We loved the food. Local transport was very good. We found the holiday through the internet. Tour operator's don't give Albena the attention it deserves. Our resort was working hard towards being "green"by 2019 season. Electric buses were being trialed last year, with free electric transport too and from the entrance of the hotel to a barrier at the beginning of the road to the hotel. My family and I always spend our summer vacations here, and I can only say that this is one of the most underrated resorts in Bulgaria. It has a pretty large beach with at least 10-15 rows of umbrellas. There are also many free zones that you can use, and the nightlife is quite good - many famous Bulgarian artists come and perform here, which is located on the beach.
