I have to say that I'm really disappointed with this awful hotel and the people that work there!! The hotel as a building is okay, looks nice, rooms are a decent size and the comfort is decent. But the people that work there, pure Trash (sorry for this expression, but it's the truth). I had a case of missing 150e from my room, just few day ago (on 31.12. 2018.). The money was in a clear spot on the night shelf, beside my bed. In the morning the cleaning lady was in the room, and the money magicly disappeared. At that moment i was in the room, but in the kitchen (i didnt want to get in here way), and she wasa alone in my bedroom for about 5-10min. So, what happens next.. I realised my money is missing few hours latter (was in town for lunch, and when i came back i saw that the money is missing), so i went straight down to the recepcion, and talk to the lady that works there( THE WORST AND THE MOST RUDE EMPLOYE I HAVE EVER SEENED). I explained my situation, and i just wanted to ask the cleaning lady, i just wanted to talk to her, maybe she saw the money or something like that. But the fat lady at the reception said that i must call the Police!?! Just like that. So i did that, and the Police came fex hours latter. So its already 9pm on 31.12. and the police arrives, they check the room to see if there was some burglary interventions, ofcourse there was none, so the next thing they told me that i can do is go to the station with them to give a statment, and all of my friends with me (The room was entered for the whole trip only by me, 5close, like really close friends of mine, (why i say this, cause im 100%possitive that none of them could steal my money, i know them for more then 15years) and the cleaning lady, nobody else) + my friends didnt even know that i left my money in the room. So i told the police that i just want to talk to the cleaning lady, that im leaving the hotel in 1 and a half day time, and that i dont have the time to raise a charg or to give a statement. So the fat reception lady, in front of the police, said that that is fine, and she'll call the lady in the morning, when she comes to work, to talk to me. I said Okay, and the police left. So in the morning, or afternoon, whatever, i came down to reception to look for the 2 ladies i was supposed to talk to. The fat reception lady told me that she can't let me talk to this women alone (which she said i could do a night before that, while the police was there), without the manager of the hotel. I asked when is the manager coming, she said soon, and she'll call me when the manager shows up. (And by the way, that same fat lady was interducing to some frineds of mine as A MANAGER OF THE HOTEL!?!?). So another day passed, ofcourse nothing happened, the manager didnt show up, the cleaning lady went home... And i was supposed to leave the hotel the next morrning. An hour before i left, i came the last time to talk to the fat lady, and i was beeing sarcastic. I said: " So the manager is still not here?" and she replied: "Oh im sooooo sorry, im gonna call the cleaning lady, and you can talk to her now!?!?" Then she called SOME number, no body answered and she told me: "She's not picking up, i'm sorry!!" I just laughed, i didnt know what to say to her, i was so angry, and just left the hotel. And the whole time this incident was happening, the fat lady was reapiting one sentence. Quote: " I work this job for 15years, we never had any problems like this. I know the cleaning crew for almost 10years, they are all good ladies! Check with your friends, they must of taken the money from you?!?!?!?!" FIRST OF ALL WHO IS SHE TO SAY THAT MY FRIEND ROBBED ME?? SHE CAN'T KNOW THAT... SECOND WHY DIDN'T THEY ALLOW ME TO TALK TO THE LADY, AS IT WAS PROMISSED TO ME? THIRD I BET 150E MORE THAT IT WAS ALL PLANED! Summa summarum: DONT VISIT THIS HOTEL, U CAN FIND A LOT OF BETTER ONES FOR THE SAME MONEY, EVEN CHEAPER. AND THE STAFF WILL TREAT YOU WITH RESPECT THAT YOU DESERVE AND NOT LIKE GARBAGE, LIKE THEY DID TO ME. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! WORST...
Read moreWe've just returned home after a very disappointing visit to Hotel Belmont In Bansko! ||||We were Initially given room 602, by the night receptionist / Porter. There was no mention of any of the other hotel products, services or amenities - We found out on the final day, there was a free shuttle bus to the Gondola (this didn't matter as it was only a 10 min walk) ||||The room was considerably different to all the pictures; it was very small (the pull out bed touched the kitchen cupboards!), there was no table & chairs, DVD player and the TV received a very bad signal / picture, The apartment was very dusty, in addition there was 2 smashed light fittings, missing pieces of skirting board, loose tile trims, a loose metal box that was left open (containing heating pipes), badly patched up pieces of wall, no shower door handle, no hangers. There were no vales to control the radiators meaning the heating was on full all the time! (34°C). The kitchen didn't contain enough crockery for 3 people, or any pans to use the hotplate. There were also stray hairs on the bedding and the curtains were fitted to a track that was on a slope to the window - meaning they always just fell open! ||||The hotel finally allowed us to switch rooms to 503 after the room suffered a power cut - the power blew and there was a buzzing noise coming from the power box above the door - initially staff didn't believe us, then told us to wait until 8am until the maintenance man arrived (we insisted on swapping and the reception lady wen't away.... We had to go back downstairs to reception again (30 mins later) when she didn't arrive back)||||Room 503 was much better, although far from recommended. It contained a big water boiler that was in the the bathroom above the toilet! (you had to duck to avoid hitting your head). Housekeeping came in to our room just once on day 5 of 7. ||||A second key for the room would have been useful as there was 3 in our group all doing separate activities , but was refused by reception/night porter There was no free WiFi. ||(See...
Read moreWe travelled as a group of 5 and 4/5 of us had never skied before so decided Bansko was a good destination to start.||We booked our stay through Balkan Holidays which was well worth it.... booking very simple, straight forward. Fast track is also VERY worth it to avoid the one hour queue every single morning. Highly recommend this! ||We stayed in hotel Belmont. Welcomed by a lovely receptionist, however her English was limited. She remained very lovely/ pleasant through our stay. The resort was around 2.5 hours from airport after bus stopped at various hotels in Bansko. It also stopped halfway along route for a refreshment stop at a petrol station which served hot dogs and kebabs too. ||Our hotel was around a 10minute walk to the bottom of the gondola each day, future booking will be a closer hotel. ||The high street you walk through is a bit run down, half built hotels and stray cats and dogs ... however they look in good health and are friendly so don’t be afraid! ||There are lots of steak and bbq restaurants with people trying to get you to eat in them! There are barely any vegan options, and most vegetarian options have cheese drizzled all over them. There is a great central super market that sells everything from toiletries to fresh fruit and alcohol so you can easily eat self catered and cheaply for the week. ||The ski slopes were great for beginners, there is an excellent orange run by the gondola which had lots of little ones and beginners on it. I am a beginner and had completed all the reds by the end of the week. ||A few runs were shut because of the World Cup though, but the lift pass was still the same price which was a shame.||The mountains are beautiful, and I would return again, perhaps even in the summer. Great...
