Hotel "Elegant Lux" — Hotel in Bansko

It covers the basics, but to say this hotel has 4 stars is a serious exaggeration (might be passable for 2 stars). The good: food was decent, even good in a couple of days, rooms were spacious. The bad: breakfast starts at 8:00 which makes it impossible to get to the ski lift in time to avoid huge queues, it should start earlier. in front of the hotel you get knee deep in mud there is just one old, bad elevator: it was broken both when we arrived and when we left, had to carry all the bags 4 floors by stairs, even when working out was barely working: doors not always opening, doors displayed incorrectly the rooms are either too cold (some friends requested to get different rooms because there was no heat in theirs), or too hot (in the first 2 days I could not sleep at night, had to wake and open balcony doors) furniture is prehistoric and dirty everywhere there are improvisations: bad sliding door to the bathroom, shower cabin with no doors and much much more... staff spoke some English, but not enough to carry a conversation, explain or get a problem solved. on the last day there was no hot water, we showered with cold water... the bus taking us to/from ski lift was often late, and was only working till 5PM, (other hotels did...

Me and my girlfriend came to stay here for 2 weeks. Had a lovely time here! The room was spacious, bed was a bit hard but not too bad, pillows werent great but again not too bad. it was really hot there but once we figured out how to put the heating off it was fine. Location was brilliant not too far from the gondola and the main street. The pool jacuzzi and sauna was perfect after a day on the slopes! We did have a few times where there was a unruly family in there splashing in the pool and getting our stuff soaked which was annoying but we just made sure we went there when there were no kids as its open until 9 at night. The main highlight was the staff. All of them were very accommodating and always had a smile! Rooms were cleaned daily and to a good standard, there was alyways someone to give us a lift to the gondola when we got up in the morning even though you dont need it because its quite close, but still a nice option! But niko the bar manager was the best. Always helped us out when we had any issue, made the nicest cocktails, good conversation and just a really great guy! My first impression was good - the apartment was big and was not too dirty when we checked in. But then the bad experiences started one after another. Many of the things didn't work as they supposed to - there were missing lightbulbs, no electricity on all the sockets, the control remote on the big TV was missing. On the third day of our stay in the afternoon there was no warm water, so we had to take a shower with cold water. One of the days we asked the housekeeping for extra toilet paper, but they completely forgot to come by our room. That’s unacceptable considering the fact, that they don't come by if you haven’t asked on the reception for cleaning. We had to ask for toilet paper on the reception every day and only receiving 1 to 2 toilet rolls in a six-people apartment. We paid a lot of money for those 6 nights and it's just unacceptable to "beg" for toilet pair of 2 leva every single day.
