Hotel Grand Riga — Hotel in Ruse

The hotel is horrible. The building is decrepit, to use a nice word, curtains are black plastic, and so is the floor - who was full of hair. The bathroom smelled decals and the toilet would not flush. |Thr breakfast was even more horrid - salami, ham left in a room with no air cond while there were 40 degrees outside. Ty here were 8 guests in the whole restaurant, and when we asked for a table outside, the lady took the crumbs, but did not bother to change the mats until asked to do so. The toilet downstairs was full of papers on the floor. The decoration looks like in thriller movies. The only nice thing was Svilenia, the girl at the reception: she spoke perfect English, had great recommendations for food and drinks, and was so very accomodating. The owner should invest a hefty amount of money both in cleaning and renovating and the training...

You have to smile when talking about this hotel.||It is located ideally next to the Danube promenade, 5 minutes away from the city center and at the same time in a quiet area while offering private parking. If you look at it from the outside, though, you get the shivers even if you're already familiar with it, like I was. But the inside looks very good, even great if you consider the prices charged). I really enjoy the elevators - communist elevators made modern and reliable - and the view is very nice even from the Standard rooms. The Standard room is huge in size - you could fit 2 decent basic double rooms inside it - and everything was spotlessly clean and worked fine.||The staff attitude was very welcoming and the hotel has a great restaurant. Will definitely stay here next time...

I live in Ruse and am telling you how awful is this place. Restaurant staff had no attitude. We ordeted beers while waiting to order the dinner. Beers tasted rubbish like water mixture, probably they mix with water to account less sales and staff share some money. Rude waitress left us without dinner. We only asked what time closes the kitchen as we arrived late in the garden of the restaurant and an old lady started tirade about our arrival, the drinks ordered and what do we want at all. Just a simple yes/no answer was required but waitress seemed so angry. Bad rude manner in answering questions about dishes. There are much better places in the town, avoid...
