Guest House Priyateli — Hotel in Veliko Tarnovo

I went with my girlfriend, her parents, and our small 4kg dog. ||The room|The room my girlfriend and I stayed in had a comfy bed, air conditioning, and a large bathroom. Everything was clean and tidy, as you would expect. We had decent WiFi reception despite being on the top floor, and the WiFi speed was adequate for a little internet browsing and checking emails etc. ||We couldn't have asked for more. ||Food|The whole hotel is family-run and all the food served is homemade - my girlfriend's dad even watched them making the mekitsi. The owners, a husband and wife, are very friendly and they'll prepare tea or coffee for you on request. Otherwise you can help yourself to cold meats, cheese, cakes, bread (there's a toaster if you want toast), as well as homemade jam, fresh seasonal fruit, and vegetables. ||Again, we couldn't have asked for more. ||Location|The hotel is about 400m from the town center and some of the nicest restaurants with good views over the river, as well as some of the more popular sightseeing spots...

We had an enjoyable stay at this family run guest house/hotel, just one street behind the main street in Old Town Veliko Tarnovo. Parking is at a premium, so be sure to reserve a parking spot if you have a car. We booked a spacious family suite with views over the rooftops into the old town, a comfortable queen bed, lounge area and bathroom. Marina was super friendly and helpful and the breakfast she puts on is excellent!! This is Bulgarian hospitality at its best!! Note that if you are mobility impaired, Veliko Tarnovo is built on the sides of a canyon forged by the river. We had a family tour in Bulgaria and we took one big family room(3 rooms inside) and one small room for couple.

It's a family and therefore small hotel and Mira and her husband are great!! They are so lovely and happy to help with everything!! (We cooked dinner and Mira helped us so much and also gave us dishes and extra food:) Everything was so clean from the room itself, to the hallways and to the dishes at the perfect homemade breakfast. We had a perfect visit and it was our best stay in Bulgaria (and we were also at 4 star hotels.. the family attitude makes all the difference) *there is no elevator so if you have an issue with stairs ask for a room on the lowest floor
