It's truly a wonderful area! When visiting, you feel like you're somewhere in Bavaria or Switzerland. Small, beautiful houses made out of stone, small shops, cafeterias, wineries, restaurants, it's something out of a fairytale. When we visited during the weekend, all the streets were filled with stalls of small producers, selling jeweleries, natural products, home made desserts, cosmetics, candels, souvenirs, clothes, bags, anything you would think of. During weekdays it wasn't open. If you get to Veliko, this place should be a MUST on your list and it's right in the heart of the city. I don't know if the city is as busy in the autumn-winter season as it is in spring/summer, but when we visited, the whole city was very crowded and we were really lucky to find a single parking spot because a taxi was just leaving. The good part is that during weekend the parking is free, so we were able to visit the whole city for hours without worrying cause I, personally, could not manage paying at the parking meters i found there. The ones i came across were old and they only had instructions...

Gorgeous hand made products with such variety to pick from. Friendly service an make sure to visit the natural leather shop. The streets are not even so walk with caution. There is a gorgeous coffee shop that offers lots and lots of cakes so whenever you need a break, you can enjoy their offerings. We went during a holiday celebration and we were blessed with more products to choose from. For example, lots of bee 🐝 products like honey and natural candles were displayed especially because of the holiday celebration. The whole area has a different feel to it and I highly...

Quite small but interesting crafts and artisans market in the old city of Veliko Ternovo. Good quality and attractive prices for pictures, orthodox icons, souvenirs and classic Bulgarian clay pottery. Shops are closed on Sundays to the best of my knowledge. If you are lucky enough to find a parking place, you will be able to park your car in either of a couple of tiny parking lots nearby, in which a lady will give you a ticket for...

Beautiful street with craftsmen workshops in the heart of the old city. You can see woodcarvers, copper smiths, sugar sweets makers, jewellers, leather shops etc. Great place for children to learn about crafts and pick authentic souvenirs. There are quiet cafes and restaurants, restricted traffic on the narrow streets.
