Kim Guesthouse — Hotel in Khan Prampi Makara

Booked this hotel for two nights. Got a very spacious, very clean double bed A/C room with huge window view to the street. Bed was very comfortable. Room had TV, Fridge and coffee maker. Washroom was big and clean. The staff talk little English but they are helpful. At the entrance it may look bit old Hotel but inside the room it is totally clean and hygiene. WiFi works very fast. ||From here main attractions like Royal Palace, Silver pagoda, etc places on the river side are at 1-2 km away. Easily can get Grab tuk tuk (auto rickshaw) for cheap. Do not talk to the nearby moterbike-tuk tuk people as they charge too high.||While coming from airport to the hotel, I paid USD15 for taxi because of lack of WiFi service at the airport to book grab. But on return can book a grab tuk tuk for USD4 or cab for 8USD.||Nearby restaurants are there. Royal India restaurant is located at 5 minute walk which is cheap and tastes best for Indian food. ||Do not look into the old negative reviews. Surely a recommended hotel to stay...

We stayed at the Kim Guest House as our regular guesthouse was full during our visit. Upon arriving we could see they were doing renovations and they really should have closed for a few days. The walls were in various stages of being painted. The front door was being worked on. The strong smell of paint fumes filled the hallways.||||The room itself was up a few flights of stairs - no elevators. Our room was more like a medium sized jail cell. Curtains on two walls - one was a window overlooking the street and the other of the wall of the neighboring building. The room was in desperate need of paint and the bathroom looked old and dated. The door to the room also had a lock we didn't quite trust. ||||The staff was extremely helpful and attentive - and that was the only positive of our visit. Honestly, I would simply pay the few dollars more and stay at their sister guesthouse, The Mou, in the future and stay somewhere that looks like it is kept in good condition and...

Maybe 3.5 stars. So it's pretty cheap, and for that price you get a room equipped with a refrigerator, air conditioning, fan, hot shower. Our room was pretty small and the window looked right onto the neighbours wall. The room wasn't very clean: the walls were dirty in the room and bathroom, there was chewing gum on the side of the bed, some stains in the sheets. The floor was clean though. The air conditioning worked but only barely, the fan worked but the cords for the switch was missing so it was hard to turn on or off. Tap in the bathroom wasn't fixed properly. Also no musquito net in the bathroom window and we had a lot of musquitos because of that. All in all its not bas value but I think with some low effort measures the rooms would be much nicer. Get a maintenance guy and tell the cleaning lady to be thorough. Staff is friendly and helpful but they failed to inform us properly on two occasions. It's simply not the best place out there, it's...
