If you want to experience life as a local you would love this hotel. Located on street 143 and away from where all the tourist are staying. I had a bit of trepidation when our hotel transportation drove us down the street where the hotel was located but rest assured as soon as we reached our hotel we were greeted by a newly built hotel with welcoming smiles from staff and came up to a very clean room and the best part every thing was new and the air condition (my main concern) was cool and works perfectly.||||The restaurant is located on the 13th floor, rooftop with nice city view. Breakfast had a mixed of asian and very limited western dishes. We had buffet breakfast every morning, however, it would be nice if they would change the menu now and then as we get the same menu everyday of the week.||||You could walk anywhere from this hotel or the easiest possible way would be to take a ride on the tuk tuk. For a tuk tuk ride from our hotel to the russian market for two person would cost us US$2 or if you perfer to walk it would take you around half a hour to get there. ||||The staff are all very friendly. A few of them could communicate in English. If you want a really good english speaking staff, ask for a young man by the name of Pich (he is from reception and his name is pronounced with a silent "H"). He was always there to help us from translation to writing stuff in cambodian for local who wouldn't understand what we wanted. There is free wifi internet anywhere in the hotel and very quick as well.||||Overall it was a positive stay and would recommended this...
Read moreI hate giving poor reviews but I could not with all honesty put much positive about this establishment.||Not happy with the hotel at all, the first room was smelly and dirty and the sheets were stained and had clearly not changed. The safe did not work and the shower flooded the bathroom. They did change our room to a better one but I still had issues with cleanliness. We asked one man on reception where would be a good place to eat (it was dark when we arrived) and he said just follow everyone else! The chef was a lovely guy but the breakfast choice was horrendous when we arrived at 9am, and the tables were dirty, there was also a long dark hair on one of the spoon holders (yuk). The area is not for tourists so add frequent Tuk Tuk rides onto your expenses, at least a 25 minute walk from waterfront. Could be so much better as the rooms are large and light with good sized bathrooms, very disappointing.||One shining light was the girl on reception who was lovely and the maintenance guy who we spent a ridiculous amount of time with due to all the issues we had...
Read moreThings I liked: My room was right next to this balcony that had a pretty awesome view of the area. The view from the restaurant at the top floor was also awesome.
Things I didn't like: The bathroom was small. The shower was literally right next to the toilet, so when you showered, the toilet got soaking wet and that's just kinda gross.
There was only one elevator for the entire building. ONE elevator. That makes checking out from the hotel so difficult because you'd have to either wait forever for your turn, or just walk down the stairs. This problem pairs with the next problem.
The restaurant was at the 13th floor. The elevator goes up only to the 12th floor. So you have to take the elevator to the 12th floor, then take the cramped stairway to the next floor while squeezing past people walking down, or just walk up the entire way from your floor to the 13th floor.
Like 5 of the 6 clocks at the front desk had...
