Pool Party Hostel — Hotel in Siem Reap

We recently stayed at Pool Party Hostel as some friends were staying there, we were a little apprehensive as we aren't the 'pool party' type.. We needn't have worried because the name of this hostel is misleading, its so far away from a party place. In fact, its so relaxed and chilled out here we went from booking on for 3 nights to staying an extra 6 nights. They also have some 'resident' guests with one guest staying there over a year, what does that tell you about how good the place is!

The pool is well sized, with plenty of hammocks and sunbeds surrounding it. There's also an ipad hooked up to a sound system so you can be your own dj during the day and night which we enjoyed.

The staff are by far the best thing about this place, they are all so welcoming and friendly. They don't just say "morning" or "how are you", they actually engage in conversation with you and treat you are part of the family. They simply cannot do enough for you!

The rooms are pretty spacious and lovely and cool with both air con and a fan.

In the evening its a lovely chilled out place but you are only a 10/15 minute walk away from Pub street, the night market and the cinema. Although it isn't that far and is only one road away, the hostel also provides a free tuk tuk service to take you into the main centre.

We are heading back to Siem Reap before our time in Cambodia ends and we will, without a doubt be staying back at Pool...

Above average service, and staff that caters to your every need...... An oasis in chaos..... Although the name suggests life is a party, the environment is quite chill and relaxing. The music is never too loud , but if you seem to think so they will adjust it to your liking. Food is delicious , and very affordable..... The fridge is always loaded with a great variety of ice cold beverages (and beer). The pool is crystal clear, and a very pleasant temperature. The staff keeps the place spotless, and will "freshen up" your room on request. There is free transportation available on request. Your laundry will be taken care of the same day and pressed...... I love the way a fresh clean ironed shirt feels and looks..... One of the most pleasant hostels I ever had the pleasure in staying at.

I rented a motorbike from them with quite weak breaks that I was warned about but they didn’t think to notice about a loose lock of the key.

After key fell out of a lock while driving I had to find a way to make a new key and drive home late in the dark.

After suggesting that I don’t feel it’s fair for me to pay for the new key crafting, owner got furious, he kept claiming it’s more than my fault that I lost the key and even dare to suggest otherwise.

I don’t care about the money of key crafting as much as I care about being kind to each other. Extremely disappointed with such behaviour, seemed like a really nice guy until this occasion.

Everyone is friendly and the food is great mostly. Good vegetarian options.

Rooms are alright, our bathroom door didnt close though.
