On my very first night at Best Mom, I felt an immediate sense of warmth and belonging. Since I look Cambodian, the sweet lady everyone calls “Mom” started speaking to me in Khmer. At first, I was a bit nervous because I don’t speak the language, but one of the staff members quickly realized this and helped me out. Despite the mix-up, Mom’s friendliness set the tone for the rest of my stay—it was like everyone assumed I was Khmer, and I couldn’t have felt more welcome.

That night, the staff were enjoying some cat’s eye fruit, and to my surprise, they offered me one. It was a small gesture, but it touched me deeply. I didn’t feel like just another customer; they treated me as part of their extended family. That feeling only grew as I kept returning.

By my second night, Best Mom was already becoming my favorite dinner spot. As I sat down, they were preparing a special banana-covered steamed rice dish and asked if I wanted to try it. Of course, I said yes! The fact that they offered it to me without hesitation reinforced that sense of being treated like family. I loved it so much that I asked for it again on my last night, and they kindly served it to me once more.

During my stay, I tried nearly every significant dish on the menu, and I can honestly say they were all amazing. If you want to dive deep into authentic Khmer cuisine, this is the place. My personal favorite was the Beef Lok Lak—it’s a must-try. And while I loved everything, I didn’t discover their fried eggplant until my last day there. I regret finding it so late because it was exceptional!

One of the highlights of dining at Best Mom is watching the chefs at work. You can see them cooking from your table, and their skills are impressive. Each dish is crafted with such delicacy, often decorated with intricate vegetable carvings—flowers made from carrots or chilis, for example. It’s not just a meal; it’s a visual experience.

What also makes this place special is the staff’s interaction with the customers. They’re incredibly friendly, which gives Best Mom its unique charm. I had a great time joking around with the girl working at the counter; her cheerful personality added to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

Funny enough, the girl at the counter once asked me if I would write a review of this place. I told her no because I wanted it to be a surprise. And here I am, writing about just how much this place has touched me.

After long, tiring days of temple-hopping, coming back to Best Mom was the perfect way to unwind. The food, the warmth of the people, and the sense of belonging brought me so much happiness and joy. I’ve found my go-to dinner spot, and I will absolutely be back. If you’re looking for a place to experience authentic Khmer flavors with genuine hospitality, Best Mom is the best...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Incredible Dining Experience at Best Mum Restaurant!

From the moment we walked into Best Mum Restaurant, we knew we were in for something special. The warm, welcoming atmosphere and friendly service set the stage for what turned out to be an unforgettable meal.

We started with the fresh shrimp spring rolls, and they were nothing short of perfection—delicate, light, and bursting with vibrant flavors. Each bite was a perfect balance of crisp vegetables, tender shrimp, and that irresistible dipping sauce.

The star of our lunch was undoubtedly the Fish Amok with rice—a masterpiece of Cambodian cuisine. The fish was melt-in-your-mouth tender, enveloped in a fragrant, creamy coconut sauce that carried just the right hint of spice. Paired with fluffy rice, it was pure comfort on a plate.

Not to be overshadowed, the avocado and chicken salad was a refreshing delight. The creamy avocado paired beautifully with the succulent chicken, creating a dish that was both nourishing and deeply satisfying.

To top it all off, the drinks were ice-cold and refreshing, the service was attentive yet unobtrusive, and the prices were incredibly reasonable for the quality of food we enjoyed.

Certainly worth the drive and only a few minutes from town—this hidden gem is an...

I was cruising around looking for a place to eat, and came upon this wonderful place. I was really in the mood for spring rolls and they were fabulous! Packed with very fresh veges and a wonderful sauce. Not sure which beer to try, Srey, the owner recommended what she liked. Very tasty with the rolls. It had such a calm and friendly atmosphere that I came back everyday to hang out, enjoy wonderful food and write in my journal. I met the whole family who were super kind--- and even their dog was a friendly guy! The food was always very fresh and plentiful and extremely affordable. I highly recommend this wonderful family owned and run restaurant. Smiling faces and hospitality abound. Oh, and one evening, Srey gave me a banana/mango shake to try, another time, fresh pineapple. Oh my gosh they were yummy!! There are many choices of places, but this one is very wonderful!!
