I stayed here in March 2016. The room we got was terrible. It was extremely outdated and had a definite smoke smell to it even though it was a non smoking room. I need a non smoking room because I am asthmatic. But there were "no more rooms" available when we talked to the reception. They would not give any more details even though it seemed like the hotel was pretty empty. The bathroom was dirty. The toilet had left over feces from the previous occupant. Around 10 pm my husband went to grab toiletries from the macs across the street (the hotel didn't even have a spare toothbrush) where the owner of the macs told him that a murder had taken place in the hotel the night before and the body had been found the very same day that we checked in!!!. This was such a shock to us as the hotel staff had purposely withheld this information from us and kept us out of the loop. Then we realized that half the hotel was closed down by the police and that's why they didn't have any more rooms. My husband and I were very scared and just wanted to leave but it was late night and we didn't want to go outside. We wanted to leave as soon as possible after having our breakfast that was supposed to be included in the booking. In the morning when we went to the breakfast room we were informed that they didn't have any continental breakfast because the restraunt was shutting down the next day. Instead they pushed a buffet breakfast for $14 per person that they told us we had to get if we wanted breakfast. Very annoyed at this point we argued that breakfast is supposed to be included in our booking, how can they just not give it to us? We suggested that the restraunt provide us with a meal as we were starving and we're expecting to be fed as per our booking. The waitress went to the back and miraculously came back saying they had continental breakfast leading us to believe that the restraunt is manipulating customers to buy the buffet breakfast. The waitress blatantly even said "how will we make money" if we didn't buy the buffet. The continental breakfast we were given was so old and might have been expired. The raisins in the raisin bran cereal were as hard as rocks and the fruit had a bitter aftertaste like it was served out of a can. Upon checkout I saw the police officer was using the computer at the front desk to review security footage. I asked the receptionist directly if anything is going on and she said nothing is going on. She just lied straight to me. That was the most terrible experience in a hotel I have ever had and I will never be booking through Expedia hotels again. Travelodge should have transfered the guests to a different travelodge in the city once they were told a murder had taken place. I am so disappointed with the behaviour of the staff at the hotel and...
Read moreWe had to stay here last minute due to a dirty AIRBNB, we checked it in and got ready quickly as we had a concert to attend to that same night. The next morning when shining light in the room we realized how filthy the room (148) was, it looked like they hadn't cleaned anything but the beds is over 10 customer stays or more. Literal sticky debris on everything, walls, floors, bathroom, mini fridge, dresser, lamp shades EVERYTHING was filthy! We complained and were moved to another room (149) after moving everything over that we had and getting ready for the day we started to realize we had bin a bit too trusting with the second rooms cleanliness as the cleaning manager and cleaner had gone in before us, the bathroom in the second room was even more dirty then the first, at this point we had been told 2 times to get our deposit and check out (once by the manager because we asked her to come look at the second room instead of us having to show through photos) we were exhausted at this point and wasted more then half our 3 days trip from saskatoon in edmonton accommodations so we cleaned what we needs to get by in our hotel room and tried not to think about the filth as we had nowhere else to go. We were also charged $550 for 3 nights including a tourist fee. Management was terrible and rude, and the housekeepers argued with us justifying the rooms filth due to it being "in the bad part of edmonton" regardless rooms should be clean, staff should be Friendly and helpful, and the housekeepers should not be cutting corners. Not to mention in this time another man was doulbe charged and having issues getting refunded and another couple beside us moved rooms due to "the new ac Not working" but it was rainy all weekend and we had actually turned the heat up. I HIGHLY recommend not booking at this hotel is you want an overpriced dirty room that comes with poor customer...
Read moreI had a very bad experience. I booked with Expedia two weeks prior to check in and made a special request for a crib/ playpen for my baby. The travelodge website and Expedia both have an option for a crib. I also called the day before check in to make sure they would provide one, the first denied having any at the hotel, but once I told her what I was promised on Expedia and their website she then confirmed that the following day she would provide me a play pen. To my disappointment, on check in day, I was told the hotel does not even carry them, and they always have this problem with families that made a request for a crib. I then provided proof I called the day before. The receptionist then called the manager, which he only gave me one option take the room or cancel. I came from out of town and specifically booked two weeks in advance. Manager was very rude suggested I just cancel. I could not cancel, I needed this room for my stay but ended up layering blankets on the floor for my baby to sleep on top of. If they continuously have this problem they should just update their website and not even offer the customer any special request for a crib. Or even simpler they can just go buy a few play pens from the Walmart up the road for $100. Saves the customer the dissapoinment if they â always have this problemâ. All in all ,was not good experience, they didnât even try to offer me any special offers then afterwards. Problem number two the receptionist told me I would need to pay $200 damage deposit on arrival, this was not even mentioned until check in, very sketchy. She ended up not charging me the damage deposit, the only good that came out of my interaction with her. Also, had another problem with the air conditioning, set on high and the room is still very hot. Would not suggest coming here with...
