Donairlover — Restaurant in Beverly

BEWARE!!! DON'T END UP PAYING DOUBLE LIKE WE DID!! Wish we could give negative stars!! I was happy to see a new restaurant in Beverly as we have lived in the area for 8 years now and consider it home. However, our first (and last) order from this business turned into a nightmare!! We had placed our order on Skip the Dishes and my husband was going to pick it up. He paid with his debit card and brought it home. Some of it was good tasting and some not so much. But whatever, we tried it out and that's that. NOPE!! About a week or so later I was going through our bank statement online and saw that we were charged TWICE!!! Yes, our $41 order turned into double, we had $82 taken from our account!! The charges showed one directly after the other and it was clear to see the charge had gone thru twice!! Of course I contacted the business right away and was told to try back again tomorrow as the manager was not in. I said ok. The next day I called again and was told the manager in fact is never present at that location and I'd need to contact him via email. I was not given an email address and so I asked for them to please give him my phone number and when he called I would send what ever proof he needed to see on my end. That didn't happen. I called about once a week for the next SEVERAL WEEKS and was getting nowhere. I would speak with woman there as she had the best English I was told. Same thing, please have the manager contact me. That never ever happened. She told me we would need our bank statement to show them and I said but you must be able to see it on your end too, you would have an extra $42 from that day. She insisted they would need to see the back statement. Okay. Now I was wondering why she was answering me now and why I didn't need to talk to the 'manager' any longer. Hmmm?? So a few days later one evening after work my husband brings in our bank statement and I had blacked out all our other transactions and personal info on there as it was irrelevant and private. She WOULD NOT accept it like that!!!! The transaction(s) with their business were clearly visible but she said not good enough!?!? What??? My husband said well we aren't going to give you our bank statement with our address, bank account numbers and other personal and private info on there!!!! Now up until this point, we assumed this was an innocent mistake, but maybe it wasn't!! We didn't know what to think at this point!!!! So he leaves and comes home to tell me what happened. Needless to say I was not happy and we were feeling as though we were stolen from!! A little later that night I called the restaurant to talk to the lady again and ask why this was not sufficient and she said she needed the original copy of our statement with nothing blacked out. I said no way!! At this point in time, (which was now JUNE btw!!) we weren't sure what to think and I said should I call the police and report a theft? She told me to go ahead!!! I was confused!!! I said but you know you owe us the money, so why can't you tell the manager you've seen the statement and get us our refund. She refused to talk any longer and said call the police, bring them in here with you I don't care. You are not getting the money unless we get your original bank statement!! Wow!! I said I wanted to talk to the manager before we contact the police. I thought that was the right thing to do. She just kept repeating bring the cops with your statement and then hung up saying she was busy and don't call back again. SHOCKED!! I really didn't think it was a matter for the police to be spending time on, we got the darn statement and my husband took it in, nothing blacked out , he was just going to cover the private info. She was not in & they wanted him to leave the statement for her & he said no. We didn't hear from them; no call from the manager, no call from the woman and no refund!! LET THIS BE A WARNING TO ALL OF YOU. IF YOU ARE PAYING AT THIS RESTAURANT WITH PLASTIC, BE VERY AWARE AND CHECK YOUR BANK ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY OR PAY WITH CASH...

I came here tonight on a whim. I have driven past this place ever since it opened and tonight I came in not expecting much. I was craving a donair this week and the one I had before here left me very disappointed. This place surprised me with its cleanliness, orderliness, bustle of orders coming in by phone and other customers coming in at the same time as me. I really wasn't expecting this. Also, there were only well groomed females working here. That also surprised me, pleasantly. I did not wait long for my order -- jumbo donair with sweet sauce, lettuce, tomato and onion. I received it perfectly wrapped. And I mean, perfectly. I took it home in my car and unwrapped the top 20 minutes after purchase. The top paper unraveled perfectly 👌. I am a person who despises soggy food and food that makes a mess. Food that makes a mess or is soggy can ruin my mood. This donair wasn't soggy. And wasn't messy. And it was a full 20 minutes before I ate it, from time of purchase. This is amazing. My pita was perfect. The slices of donair meat were thin and packed nicely. A few bites were a little peppery, but I can handle that. Honestly... I found a gem here. I will be back, and you...

Donair meat is Already cut and on the burner only heated once and usually Cold or Luke Warm Donairs! I wouldn’t eat Any Donair shop if they Can’t cut the meat off the heated Spit/rotisserie and then cook it on the grill so cooked TWICE IN FRONT OF YOU. If you order and they Already have a pill of meat on the grill or make it in the back so you can’t see like at Swiss just get a REFUND and go somewhere else! I find So So many Donair shops doing this for one thing… Profiting off Cold Food only heated once and Bagged Meats Not Fresh or has Zero flavour selling it as fresh food when it’s Not! We All need to contact AHS and Food Inspectors to Reinforce to All Donair Shops ,THAT THE MEAT IS TO BE COOKED TWICE AND NO PRECUT BAGGED MEAT COOKED ISNT BEING PAST OFF AS FRESH FOOD! This is getting Sad already because Every Donair Shop now does this Profiting Lazy Tactic Model and it Needs to End because their are So many Donair shops that Shouldn’t be...
