Went to Olio last evening with a group that had prearranged reservations. To say it was disappointing is an understatement. I would prefer not to give it even 1 star. Although the food was okay, the rest of the experience was the worst of my life. The restaurant is obviously mismanaged, has staff that is either not trained and/or they don’t want to be there, or even slightly enjoy their job. The owner(s) should be embarrassed and ashamed of his or her business based on our experience last evening. And to top it off the absolutely outrageous surcharge of $200 to have dinner reservations in the yurt is beyond ridiculous. From the moment we arrived it was a joke. Nothing was organized, no menus were given. There were a couple floating around a couple of the tables but not enough that 16 of us had a chance to take a look. Service was beyond slow and completely disorganized. The waiter stood in front of us asking what we wanted to order when we hadn’t even been shown a menu. Was never told if there were specials or what the soup of the day was. Getting a glass of water was next to impossible. When food did arrive there were no cutlery given, no napkins, no salt and pepper. Trying to get any of those things even when asked took quite some time. Food was getting cold. Not everyone in our party got food even close to arriving at the same time. It was quite some time before many people got their food. We encouraged those that did get food to not wait as there food would only get colder. There was another incident that took place during the evening that took everyone by surprise and had us all in shock. When it came to getting bills that was another wait, and by this time we were all beyond done with Olio, their staff, service and experience. When one of the guests took the time to speak quietly with the waiter and try to be compassionate and empathetic with the fact that he may not have had proper training or that his employer perhaps had not been prepared for the evening, and the guests that had made reservations when perhaps it was too much for Olio to handle, the waiter said it was a combination of his employer and the fact that the organizer of the event knew the parameters (whatever that means) and didn’t communicate that with the guests. He, the waiter also stated that he didn’t want to be there when asked, which had been apparent all evening. I would suggest that the owner(s) of Olio take more interest in their business, staff and service if they want to continue in business. This was definitely the worst experience ever, and one that I/we never hope to experience again in our lifetime. I’m not sure they at Olio have ever heard of hospitality, service, or how to enhance customer experience at their venue. Definitely will not be back, and will definitely make sure everyone knows of the deficiencies of this...
Read moreI went here on Saturday and at the beginning I had hope. The drinks were yummy and the server seemed nice but then we put our orders in and it went downhill from there. We had to wait a lot longer than was expected for our starter (about 30ish minutes). I understand waiting but when you’re starving and your starter takes forever it’s disappointing but what was worst was that they brought it without any silverware for us to eat which we had to go ask someone for which then took them a while to get. They took our plates away after we were finished with the starter which would have been fine if they didn’t take away our silverware to which we had to ask for AGAIN. Food was ok. Nothing rlly special. One of us got the margarita pizza which isn’t really a margarita it’s more like a twist on a marg which is not what we were expecting. When we got to the end we had realized that the pop we got were not free refills which was very annoying because they were $3 each and had less liquid in the cups than a small coke from McDonald’s. I would of thought that the server would warn people since most places are free refills. We barely saw our server at all during our meal besides ordering our food and drinks and bills. No one checking in which is why we had to go inside and find someone for silverware both times and the bill. Not hurrying back there...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant, and in my opinion, the experience fell short of expectations. From what it felt like, my party and I waited around 30 minutes before being greeted by the waitress, and it seemed like 20 minutes before we received water. Throughout the night, the service appeared delayed, and I personally found the waitress’s behavior to be less than welcoming.
As for the food, it wasn’t to my taste. In my view, the pizza seemed more like pre-made flatbread with a processed flavor to the cheese, and the pasta, in my opinion, tasted bland and lacked the fresh quality I was expecting for the price. It felt like we waited over an hour and a half for the food to arrive, with dishes coming out at different times.
There was also some confusion with the bill. We were initially under the impression that it had been covered, but were later approached to pay, which made for an awkward situation.
To add to the unfortunate experience, the owner has since contacted me to dispute my review, threatening legal action for defamation and suggesting that my account is not accurate based on their video footage. While I’m only sharing my personal experience and opinions, I hope this review helps others make an...
