Kitoki Inn located just 3 minutes from the ferry terminal. Owner Mitsumi will send you your check in instructions just a few days before your arrival. I highly recommend you to read through all the information as it helped us a lot getting there.
The road can be uneven, and stairs from parking lot to cabins. But good things are there is a loading zone just by the cabin in case you have heavy stuff to carry in. They also offer electric charger for those who needs.
There are in total of 3 cabins, a little gift shop and one bathhouse on the property. The cabins view is looking into the woods, and your bed will be facing the window to which it is a treat to wake up to. Cabin was sparkling clean, bed sheet was obviously cleaned and new! Inside the cabin, you have a kitchen with essentials like induction stove, some pots and pan, utensils. With provided items you should be able to make something simple. Kitoki is very heart warming by providing shampoo, conditioner and body wash, also lotion and hand wash. They also provide towels and bathrobes! There is also a tiny outdoor area outside your cabin, there are two beanbags for you to enjoy, sadly it was too cold for me otherwise I would love to do so! Only thing is bring some flip lops for traveling to and from bathhouse.
Kitoki Inn has booklet as manual for everything inside the cabin, give it a read. It will help you to know more about your cabin to create your best nights. They also provided some suggestions on trails around, and it was fun as we followed one of them! Outside cabin there is this little gift shop and inside you will find some good Japan gems , also some shared books or games.
Bathhouse located just a few steps from cabins, it included a showering, change room and bathroom, right outside there is a fireplace. The hot tube when not in use it being covered to maintain the heat. The temperature is just right, not too hot nor cold, my body was able to relax and get the blood circulation going. Kitoki Inn also provide some essential oil diffuser, towels and cold water for you if you need any.
Kitoki Inn was very communicative and detail orientated, I really enjoy my stay. They responded to my email really fast and able to answer my questions. My experience here had been amazing, I was able to be just 20 minutes away from Vancouver and escape into the woods with a taste of Japan.
Kitoki Inn only allows 2 person per cabin, and no children under 12 years old. This is a def a couple get away, I also highly recommend couples or people who need to recharge to come here! Also recommend only to those who are respectful of their rules and privacy of others to come. This concludes my review and I look forward for my next stay.
Thanks...

Local faves: Alderwood Farm - tiramisu and veggie pizza, yes it can fit in your fridge and toaster oven, get 2
Tunstell beach - Decent place to swim, paddleboard and kayak. Lots of families. Saw an eagle dive out of the sky and eat a fish. It was wild. They have a pickleball court there but it’s “members only”. They won’t take bribes.
Snug Cafe - can’t go wrong with anything they make, great coffee and pastry program, sandwich special and salads are on point, guy who runs the place runs a tight ship and I dug it.
Mount Gardner hike - pretty, but maybe too tough on mushrooms
Riley’s Cidery - great (and educational) tasting sesh, passionate people with a great story, took 2 to-go
Bowen Island Pub - great Cobb and Caesar special, must have every visit
Happy Isle Cannabis - Awesome customer service, great place to pick up BZAM and...
Read moreWe had the pleasure to stay at some wonderful places over the years, but I think it's safe to say that this is the most beautiful place we've ever been. The care and thoughtfulness that was put into Kitoki is unlike anywhere else we've ever been. From the beautiful shortbread cookies that are paired with the guest guide, to the wide variety of teas available in the kitchen, you truly want for nothing.
Checking in is contactless, and for people who prefer to have their solitude in the woods have some actual solitude, this was a great start. On the first day we thought that 90 minutes for one bath house session might feel too long and couldn't imagine doing that twice a day, but between the rain shower, the hot bath, and the warm wood stove outside, we melted into puddles by the end of the first session.
The cabins themselves are works of art. It's obvious that everything from the ceramics to the bath robes were lovingly selected, and even the way the lighting was set up was beautiful at night, casting a warm glow while you curled up with your tenth mug of tea and read your book. Something about the fresh cedar walls and sprawling window overlooking the forest demands a quiet stillness.
The 'shop' meant that many of the thoughtful pieces in the cabins we had come to love could be brought home with us, and any need or want for a snack, a cheese board, a book, a yoga mat, or even a hot cup of tea were either available to borrow or to purchase.
What Kitoki has managed to do here is truly special - they have created a place that is simultaneously simple...
