Stopped by The Snug Café and overall it was a solid experience. The food was fresh and satisfying — we tried a couple of wraps and sandwiches, and everything tasted like it was made with good ingredients. Nothing too fancy, but definitely well-prepared and flavorful.
Prices are pretty much what you'd expect for Bowen Island — not exactly cheap, but fairly standard for the area. That said, the portions were decent, and it didn’t feel like we were overpaying just because it's a tourist spot. The iced coffee was actually a pleasant surprise — good taste and strength, and it didn’t come with a ridiculous markup, which was nice.
The place did get busy around lunchtime, which makes sense given its prime spot near the ferry terminal. It’s clearly a go-to for both locals and visitors waiting for a boat. That said, even with the rush, things didn’t feel too chaotic. Service was reasonably quick and friendly, and we had no trouble finding a spot to sit.
If you're passing through Bowen Island and want a quick, quality bite in a convenient location, The Snug Café is definitely worth checking out. It’s got a laid-back vibe, fresh food, and does a good job handling the...
Read moreI hesitated a lot before coming here to write this review. i have always liked dining at the Cafe whenever i visited Bowen Island, and have only had one bad experience recently. We went to Bowen island for a hike in mid October and went there early in the morning. We ordered warm food, but the food came in plates that were icy cold. The food was lukewarm at best. And within half an hour after the breakfast when we just hiked into the woods, one of us had acute diarrhea. Fortunately, she had medication in her first-aid kit. During the course of the day, she had to take medication three times to control the diarrhea. Otherwise the hike would have had to be aborted. Imagine getting up at 5am and taking the ferry and then having to cancel the trip due to food poisoning. i am only writing this review as a reminder that maybe there is still room for improvement in...
Read moreThis place is amazing! It's conveniently located near the ferry on Bowen Island, making it the perfect spot for breakfast when you arrive. I got there around 8:30 AM and snagged breakfast just before the morning rush. I went for the eggs benny with avocado and tomato (vegetarian option), and it was delicious. Came with roasted potatoes on the side too. The seasoning was a bit light for me, but I fixed that with some hot sauce. The iced vanilla latte was fantastic too, refreshing and satisfying. I also grabbed a chocolate chip cookie and a muffin for later snacking—they were good, although a tad hard. Paid around $35 for my breakfast dish, coffee, and two bakery items, which seems fair for Bowen Island prices. Overall, I had a great experience and I'll definitely be back. The staff was friendly, and the location is beautiful. Highly recommend this place for a...
