Absolutely loved my visit to Copper Spirit Distillery on Bowen Island — what a hidden gem! The moment I walked in, I was struck by the beautiful, calming atmosphere. It's the kind of place that invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and truly savour every sip.

I had the pleasure of tasting some of the best gins and whiskey I've ever experienced — truly world-class. Each pour was incredibly smooth, complex, and crafted with so much care. The variety of handmade bitters and the unique expressions of flavour in every small-batch creation made the entire tasting feel like a curated journey for the senses.

The staff was exceptional — so friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. They made me feel instantly welcome and were clearly passionate about their craft, offering insight into each spirit’s story and ingredients.

One of my favourite features? The gorgeous copper distiller, which you can actually watch in action through a large glass picture window. It’s mesmerizing and adds a special magic to the whole experience — a reminder that you’re witnessing true artisanal distilling in motion.

We came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too full inside. They have seats outside, inside and at the bar. Their distillery only serves drinks and they are all in mini form. All their alcoholic cocktails are $6

We got the elderflower sparkle which was very fresh tasting. The elderflower part was quite strong and floral flavored. It wasn't overly sweet and the vodka was very smooth.

The cassis was also made with their vodka so it was also very smooth. The black currant flavour was quite strong and it wasn't too sweet. The consistency was thicker than regular cocktails.

The not in Manhattan was very smokey. The lapsang souchong was very strong.

The cherry rye sour had a strong cherry flavour. The aquafaba made the drink a bit thick.

Overall our favorite were the cassis and the elderflower sparkle. We really enjoyed the presence vodka. The verity rye spirit was too strong for our liking. The service was very friendly and nice. I would recommend this place if you are...

Unique and full flavoured spirits! Trendy and modern tasting room with a small but well crafted cocktail menu. Tasting 1/2 ounce of spirits is only $3 per, and where you should start before ordering a drink. Amazing how a distillery of this size can make a rye, a gin, and a vodka. I went home with a big bottle of the rye - it was clear (not aged in barrels), smooth, a touch smokey, and slightly fruity. The gin is unlike any gin I’d ever tasted or smelled - the hostess told us it’s made with over a dozen botanicals, and it’s hard to identify them all - makes for a lovely sipping gin. Try them! We followed our tasting with a “Not In Manhattan” (citrus, sour, and a bit smokey), and their take on a Gin & Tonic, which was just sweet and citrusy enough for me.
