Grippen Regional Park in Horseshoe Bay promises a rewarding outdoor adventure with its beautiful views, shaded hiking trails, and varying levels of challenge. This park attracts visitors seeking a nature escape and a memorable hiking experience amidst the lush greenery and rugged terrain. The highlight of Grippen Regional Park is undoubtedly the breathtaking view from the top. As you ascend through the forested trails, you are treated to panoramic vistas that showcase the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. The scenic overlooks offer a perfect spot to rest, take in the sights, and appreciate the tranquility of the wilderness. The hiking experience at Grippen Regional Park is enhanced by the well-shaded trails that provide relief from direct sun exposure. The canopy of trees overhead creates a cool and refreshing environment, making the hike enjoyable even on warm days. However, it is important to exercise caution, as the ravines on the sides can pose a risk if not careful. The trail at Grippen Regional Park offers a variety of terrain, from gentle inclines to challenging climbs that test your endurance and strength. The progression of elevation adds an element of excitement to the hike, culminating in a rewarding and invigorating experience at the summit. The descent can be equally challenging, so it's essential to proceed with caution, especially in slippery conditions. During our hike, we encountered a moment of excitement when one member of our group lost traction and slid down a section of the trail. Despite this unexpected event, our group managed to navigate the terrain safely, thanks to teamwork and a spirit of adventure. Our furry companion, a pet dog, added to the joy of the experience, bringing a sense of companionship and fun to our outdoor excursion. Grippen Regional Park offers a fantastic mini-hike experience that combines scenic beauty, shaded trails, and a touch of challenge for outdoor enthusiasts of all levels. Whether you're seeking a peaceful nature retreat, a physical workout, or a bonding experience with friends and pets, this park delivers on all fronts. Embrace the adventure, soak in the views, and savor the moments of discovery and connection that await at Grippen Regional Park in Horseshoe Bay.

An easy route that surrounds the lake. Plain route. Most of it is shaded. The lake is lovely. There is a picnic area with tables and washrooms. We saw a snake on the track so you should be careful. The lake is beautiful but the route is mostly not so interesting so I rate 4 stars. It is possible to do a more difficult route in Crippen Park and climb the mountain. We didn't try yet.

A great park for a walk on a sunny day. The park trails starts near the ferry terminal and goes all the way to the lake and around it. It passes through different types of terrain like canyon, forest, through creeks and open meadows. After, you can have lunch or a drink in Snug cove village.
