I just came back from a two night stay on the concierge level (level 7) and had access to the M Club. Here are my remarks:
This review may appear rather critical but only because one night stay was $350 (including tourism tax and GST but excluding parking). This is what I suggest you should consider: -If you're going out to dinner, this location is not idea. If you're stuck at the airport and need to get some sleep, this is a convenient place. -Parking is not convenient. It's airport parking, so parking is $35 to valet, $30 to park yourself over night and is an extra charge. -There are higher end hotels like the Fairmont Palliser, I believe is going to be less expensive. -The bed was comfortable, the staff were friendly. It was nice to have monocular’s in the room to look out when the airplanes take off. But I noticed not every room was equipped with monocular’s. -You've got to enjoy planes. If you don't, I suggest a different location as you will hear airplane noises. -WiFi Internet is also an extra charge. It may be free if you have status with Marriott.
I provided this feedback that I'm reporting here to the staff. While apologetic, they suggested they'll look into cleaning the room. I hope they take some corrective measures to shore up these issues. I'm not inclined to re-visit this hotel...
Read moreThe hotel is very clean. Room was exceptional. Walk in shower was a delightful change from typical standard rooms. My room was on the third floor and the only negative if you would like to call it that is the view of the airport. But that might be a negative or not if you do not mind looking at the planes at night. Staff were very professional and helpful. I was attending because of a business event at the hotel for the weekend June 24th The staff that set up the conference rooms were amazing. They went out of their way to accommodate us. Since the hotel is connected to the airport you can choose theYakima restaurant or other places in the concourse or you have the typical franchises that you can utilize. Such as Subway, A&W, 7 Eleven. Very good location. I have been told to get to downtown Calgary by transit is approximately half and hour, so it is not too far from the city. My busy schedule prevented me from going downtown, maybe next time. Wi fi is complimentary just ask the front desk for the code.
P.S. It took a very long time for me to decide whether to include this but my stay was great except for one incident. The security of the hotel provided the only negative incident. Myself along with my colleagues were sitting in the lobby after the conclusiion of our gala. Still in our suits and gowns and we were approach by the head of security as he referred to himself and were treated very ignorantly by him. We understand that the hotel is the perfect location for squatters who are not registered with the hotel especially because of the restaurant and proximity to the airport. But there is a better way to approach the situation. This incident cause my colleagues some distress at the end of our great weekend. This was also compounded by the fact we witness this same individual approached other people in a more professional manner. Special appreciation goes to Gagan for addressing the situation. Gagan and Saaf( If I remember correctly) were very helpful throughout...
Read moreMarriott has two properties at the Calgary airport (YYC) – Delta Calgary Airport Hotel is across the street from the terminal near Door 9, and Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel is near Door 13.
Quark Expeditions launches polar expeditions that begin at Resolute Bay in Cornwallis Island in Nunavut, Canada. In September 2025 the expedition began at the Delta and was scheduled to return there at the end of the expedition.
Weather conditions prevented the air charter from returning on the day scheduled, so Quark’s ground crew worked with Marriott’s team to secure lodging for the returning passengers as they arrived from Resolute. Through this collective effort Quark was able to book rooms for all of us at the In-Terminal Hotel, and every detail was well attended-to.
Two Quark ground personnel were staffing a table with the room keys for the returning passengers, so it took less than 10 minutes for us to check in. It was about 9:30 pm when I checked in, so I headed right away to the Yakima Social Kitchen and Bar. I ordered the charred corn chowder ($14) along with a shot and a beer. (The restaurant is open daily from 6am - 12am.) The soup was out to me within 10 minutes and was piping hot, nicely seasoned, and perfect for a light meal that took the place of dinner.
Once in, the room I was given was perfect. The room had a highly effective blackout curtain, zero single-use plastics, a smartly laid out bathroom, and a comfortable bed.
My stay was too short to experience the amenities – like the oxygen spa, the pool and whirlpool, and the fitness center. But what I did experience was a good night’s rest. My thanks to both Quark’s ground crew and Marriott’s staff for accommodating us on short notice, in what I found to be an outstanding...
