2022 update: returned for a work lunch, still love the included parking, I’ll make more of an effort to come by outside of work hours too. Staff was friendly and professional, menu selections were broad, and we specifically chose to come because of all the locally made and grown features. Flavours were all amazing, and the cocktails were fantastic. Our meal was interrupted by fire alarm testing, which went on a deliriously long time; it would have been nice to be informed in advance (they said this was a scheduled thing), to have more response from staff when it occurred (“should we be leaving? Nobody else is moving?”), and as it drug on a more expedited service to offer the option to leave. We bailed on dessert so we could get out, but the alarm finally stopped as we were waiting to pay, and staff brought out a dessert anyways for our troubles.
2019: Trendy spot, roomy and great service. Fancy selection of cocktails but very pricey. Interesting menu with traditional and fusion fare, but the flavour was hit or miss if it was amazing or just ‘meh’. Loved the valet parking, we honestly would not have come if we had to pay for airport parking. But a neat spot if you have time to kill at the airport, grab a seat right at the bar and you can people watch the hotel lobby or the...
Read moreWow what can I say? The food here is a 11/10. This really brought some positive to me and my family when we ate here after a terrible end to our holiday with our flight being cancelled and being stuck at the airport for 4 days. All 6 of our meals were just divine, my partner had the steak which he said was the best steak he has ever had and my green Thai curry was cooked to perfection, the sauce was so creamy and I could really taste the coconut with a beautiful variety of vegetables (after eating so unhealthy during our time in Canada it was nice to have some greens!). My 2 year old daughter loved her pizza and the chips were lovely and soft (I double checked this with the server). For dessert I had the sticky toffee pudding which was delicious, if we are ever in Calgary again I would not hesitate to come back here. - our server was a little stiff and could have lightened up a little as we was trying to have a conversation with her but maybe that was just her personality, although she really did take note of my partners nut allergy and egg intolerance and made it clear to us what he could and couldn’t eat, it was not any trouble to her which we really...
Read moreThis establishment features a wide open and inviting atmosphere with a comfortable contemporary feel. Samantha behind the bar was excellent; personable, attentive and efficient, everything you want from a bartender. All the house cocktails looked amazing and well developed.
I had the Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl. It was decent. Everything felt under seasoned. The drizzle claimed to be sriracha, soy and sesame mayo... The flavours were quite muted, but perhaps that's what you get when you have to try to cater to a vast range of clientele.
I will be back to try some more food, for sure. If you're able to afford airport prices, I do recommend checking this spot out - located at the Marriott.
Edit: I went back to try some more food and can honestly say I was pleasantly surprised.
This time I tried the Thai Chicken and Peanut Buddha Bowl. This dish wasn't short on flavour! Red cabbage, roasted broccoli, mixed greens with a chicken thigh and pickled carrots, plus rice noodles - served with peanut sauce on the side. Absolutely delicious with just the right amount of spice.
Some of the best staff to...
