Our family stayed here for a week for a family reunion. Between the 12 of us, some were staying in the motel and others in the campsite. It was the perfect place to accommodate us all. They made sure to reserve all of our rooms beside one another and even had the campsite in close proximity.
You can tell how much pride the new owners have in the place. They worked non-stop while we were there, updating things, cleaning the pool, and making sure we had everything we needed.
There was always fresh-cut firewood, the pool was heated and always clean, and housekeeping was fantastic and friendly.
Rooms were basic, but all we needed. The bed was cozy. We always had hot water and the AC worked great. The kitchenette in our room was really handy to have for the week, too.
The campsite was peaceful and quiet.
There are lots of great places close by if you like the outdoors. Our fav was Moul Falls for hiking and Dutch Lake for swimming/paddle boarding.
The gas station nearby was open 24/7 and had lots of good snacks and movie theatre-style popcorn!
The coffee shop in town is called Wild Flour and is just a quick drive down the road. While it's very busy in the mornings, if you go after 11am, you don't have to wait in line as long. The coffees were delicious!
We'd 100% return for another family trip. Keep in mind that it's not a super high end motel or anything, but the value for the price was perfect...

I purchased room 114 at the Clearwater Country Inn, BC on the night of Saturday, September 17th, 2016. It was the first place we passed and at this point were extremely exhausted otherwise we would've inquired of other hotels.
At around 1:00 am I was awoken by a noise. I turned on the light to see three cockroaches. One on the ground which I killed. And two climbing the furniture. Too scared to kill the last two, I trapped them under mugs. I didn't sleep that night, but waited until I felt less fatigued to drive the rest of my trip back to Alberta. Please note there was also no duvet cover.
At 6:00 am I left (and left the cockroaches under the mugs) and tried to speak with a manager. No one was there. I dropped off the key in the slot.
At 12:00 I called the Clearwater Country Inn and spoke with whom I was told was a manager. He would not give his name and seemed to be aware of his infestation problem. He asked for the credit card number used again, which I thought was strange but obliged. He offered a refund of 20.00 but we argued that a full refund was required. He refused and then refused to give the owners number before proceeding to hang up the phone.
This place is filthy and the owner/manager is a...
Read moreI would give this place less than one star, but needed to select a star to write this review. I called this place and made a reservation and forgot to check the reviews before I did. In reading the other reviews, I saw a photo where the room had cockroaches! Within a couple of minutes of placing this reservation, I called back to cancel the reservation. The same man I had spoken to just minutes before suddenly couldn't understand me. When I tried to call back a second time the phone rang many times before going to voice mail. The voice mail box was full so I could not leave a message. I immediately called back again and the same man answered the phone. When I told him again that I had just made a reservation and needed to cancel it he told me to hold on and started speaking in another language (not English) that I did not understand. He continued to speak in this language for several minutes completely ignoring any of my attempts to get his attention on the phone. I finally hung up because he was so unresponsive to me. This charge will be blocked by my...
