I stayed here recently in a jacuzzi suite for my birthday. The room was very nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms are not cleaned during your stay unless your stay is over a Tuesday (occupied rooms are serviced once a week on Tuesday). There was a gym but no pool and sauna as advertised it's under construction (which apparently for some time now). But even without the advertised amenities this hotel is newer, looks clean &is very nice. Should be amazing after construction is complete.

But over all I really enjoyed my stay & was already planning MANY future stays with my fiancé until... I had the WORST experience I've EVER had in a hotel (the reason for 1 star which would be 0 stars if it were possible) that ultimately ended my stay in anger & tears & will not be returning or recommending this hotel to anyone I know. It was like going out to an amazing fine dining restaurant with amazing food & having the worst server ever-you probably wouldn't go back.

What happened was the night before I was to check out my fiance and I were enjoying thewereroom & decided to call front desk to extend our stay. In which I was told it would not be problem & that I could have a late check out by 2 pm without charge but if we stay beyond 3pm we would be charged for another day. Which we were fine with & fairly impressed with the options given...

However at 130pm the following day I was &resting & was rudely disrupted by the hotel manager Maria telling me that I had 10 minutes to pack my stuff and be out Of the room as I was beyond my checkout time and that another guest would be checking in & they need to clean the room. I explained to her that I was told that I could have a late checkout or extend my stay. Her response was, "Check out was at 11 o'clock AM & I must pack and leave".

This left me upset, in a panic & crying. At the time I was in the room by myself I was left to pack everything & check out on my own before my fiance returned. This treatment was extremely upsetting & had completely ruined my birthday as well as impression of my stay at this hotel. They misinformed me, and had a reservation for another guest, yet told me that I was able to extend my stay.

Needless to say we were charged an additional $570 (after checking out- Which felt like theft) for a late checkout fee & for another night . They claim they had to compensate the next guest who had a delayed check in due to me being in the room so basically we paid for a late checkout fee & the next guests night after being told we could extend our stay & then asking us to leave. Not sure why we were responsible for compensating the Hotels next guest at our expense.

This It was not handled respectfully nor professionally & was the by far the WORST Experience I've EVER had in a hotel!! As a result, loss of a new future regular guest.

Long story short I would never stay here again due to that experience and would never recommend this hotel to anyone I know. It left me crying, Very upset and sitting outside with all my stuff. Happy birthday to me!

Thanks for the rude & unfair hospitality. Hope $570 tip is worth the loss if a future regular guest(s). The reason for my review is this experience had to be...

Stopped here for 2 nights in September. Paid for a suite which was £210 / $400 CAD a night so not a cheap option |Clearwater had a planned power outage for one day that we were there. from 7am - 7pm. Unfortunatley, despite this planned outage being planned for months, this hotel didn't find it in them to communicate this in advance with their guests booked in. We arrived the day before the outage to see signs around the hotel advising of this. We wouldn't have booked and paid for a suite with a kitchen if we had known this, as we couldn't use the facilities while the power was out! |Check-in was awful in that the woman behind the desk was grumpy, rude and unhelpful and her name was Stacey. We were grunted at and huffed at as she was seemingly having a bad day and I overheard her talking like dirt to the family waiting in reception. |Our suite was large, clean and great. What wasn't great was being woken up both mornings at 5:30 a.m. from the noise from the kitchen next door, with the kitchen doors constantly banging and the sound of voices from the workers. So much so that my husband went out at 530 to ask why it was so noisy...... also, the stairwell must be over our room as constant noise from footsteps on the stairs. |The day of the power outage we were out and upon returning back to our room we discovered our room in the dark ( no emergency lighting was on ) had not been serviced at all. No clean towels, unmade bed and the kitchen bin not emptied from us cooking the night before. I went to reception and unfortunately rude Stacey was there and said she couldnt do anything as the team had left at 4pm, I asked for clean towels and again she couldnt do anything as the team had left....... ( I ended up going to the pool area and getting us fresh towels from there - why didnt Stacey offer to help with this?? ) instead of telling us tough. I told her she was extremely rude and unhelpful, and she simply didn't care. She is NOT a good look for your front of house, and when I complained about her, I was told I wasn't the first person to do so. ||I also emptied our kitchen bin ourselves and asked reception to dispose of. ||Now, thank you to Daniel who called our room when the power was back on later that evening to check in with us||Now I must give credit to the lovely 3 members of staff that I came into contact with and were brilliant, Daniel, Sheree ( apologies if incorrect spelling ) andf the manager Kyla. ||Upon check out, I did complain to Kyla the manager who was aboslutely wonderful in her handling of our situation and swiftly and very kindly offered to refund us for one nights stay which as gratefully recevied ||If they had advised us ahead of time of the planned power outage and not had this issue with the receptonist this would be a...

My daughter and I recently stayed at the Best Western (Gateway to the Fall) in Clearwater, BC. We had been driving from Victoria to our home in Vancouver and planned on driving until we were tired. We stopped in Kamloops intending to find a place to stay there. After making over 30 VERY frustrating calls with absolutely zero help (apparently every single hotel in the city was booked and almost every person who answered the phone answered no quite abruptly without a search), we were SO defeated and on the verge of tears.

On a whim I called the Best Western hotel in Clearwater and spoke with Kyla (?sp). She was the most friendly, accommodating, and kind human I’d spoken with all evening. Thankfully they had empty rooms and she assured me that there would be no concern with checking in when we arrived. I was not looking forward to driving another 1.5 hours but speaking with her solidified that this place would be a breath of fresh air after a terribly frustrating evening.

When we arrived we met with ?Kyla (sp) in person to check in. The check in process was very smooth and her kindness and compassion was appreciated more than she could know. The hotel itself is lovely. The breakfast was great with many options (my daughter had waffles with fruit and I had a cheese omelet with toast).

I would have given it 5+ stars but unfortunately the room we were assigned was dirty. Specifically the bathroom (toilet and floor). We were so exhausted and thankful for kindness that it didn’t matter and we just cleaned quick before collapsing into the extremely comfortable beds. :)

Thanks again for a great stay. We will be back on our next...

Bad review for several reasons. The room was dirty. The counter, headboard, door, and side tables were all visibly covered in a greasy film as if they were wiped with an unclean cloth. The Best Western Plus is suppose to be better than an ordinary Best Western... I found this hotel severely lacking. The finish around the bathroom was incomplete. Tiny bathroom, hardly enough space to close the door without hitting it into the toilet. The fan in room was dysfunctional and was blowing hot air non-stop. The room was close to the ice machine, and sounded like there was no soundproofing whatsoever, as we were disturbed several times overnight due to the noise of the machine. I called and spoke with the manager (Maria), no compensation. I was also charged full price and the pool is not functioning. We will never go back. Do not recommend. Notice the response to almost all of reviews from the owner is the same. Just overall poor experience. Poor service. Keep traveling north, there is a better Best Western farther up the highway.

This is a relatively new property and as such looks immaculate. The only reasons I'm deducting the overall star rating from 5 to four are: 1. Pool not being available. This may be out of their control, not sure if it is the local municipality or regional health but if the permitting allows them to open it will be a big asset. They do have an arrangement with the neighbouring hotel to use their pool. 2. No dining table/chairs in a room with a kitchenette. There was enough space in the room for a small round table and chairs. Adding this would have definitely help these rooms. Otherwise though the staff was welcoming and very kind, especially the ladies handling the breakfast.

This basically brand new Hotel is very nice! It's location is awesome as it's right at the bottom of the hill, hence the name "Gateway to the Falls". The rooms are very nice and the beds and pillows are like a 5 star hotel. I slept great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Also the restaurant next door at the Quality Inn has delicious food. The breakfast was included and had a great selection. Also the lobby had a coffee maker and many sugar free options for those on a diet. Overall an awesome hotel that I highly recommend 😊
