Good food, plenty of homemade ingredients and desserts, but portions are small, especially if you're hungry like a hiker!

Side salads were a good mix of fresh veggies, and the sandwiches were good. Especially enjoyed the homemade breads used. Portions were smaller than expected though, both the sandwiches and the sides of fries.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming, but service was a bit slow. One of the key ingredients of my sandwich was missing, and everyone else was done their meals by the time the dressing for my sandwich was brought out.

Lovely large shaded patio, a nice way to enjoy the fresh air. Some quiet music on the patio would help relieve some of the awkwardness between tables when there are only a couple tables seated outside.

Would go again and would recommend to others, just don't expect to leave...

So you been driving down the yellowhead from Jasper and it would sure be nice to pull over and have a bite to eat or maybe a coffee. Right about the time I start feeling that desire, the Hungry Hiker appears at Clearwater, right at the roundabout at the bottom of the road to Wells Grey. The Hiker is a small but friendly place with the atmosphere of a log cabin. The food is really good. The owner Sue Ward makes a bunch of the baked goods every day. Along with the baked goods she serves coffee as well as breakfast and lunch food. The meals she serves are solid and tasty quality food. I really enjoyed that beef sandwich! In the winter its a place to escape the drive. In the summer you can cool off with ice cream or so I am told! I look for places like this to renew myself on long drives. I highly...

Breakfast was not good! 3 of the four of us ordered eggs, medium. One of us got them hard, one still slimy and one under done. The hash browns were burnt and inedible. The omelette was filled with giant cubes of ham but no cheese. Shortly after we ordered, the restaurant filled quickly and our amazing server, who was working alone could not keep up. She was run off her feet. There was only one cook and the food that passed out table looked worse than ours. The service was amazing despite the fact that there should have been at least 2 servers serving a restaurant...

Stopped into this cute cafe on our way to Alberta. The young server was really kind and on the ball with our requests. Had the eggs Benny that was cooked perfectly and had great flavour. We were able to hit the road again within a reasonable amount of time. Our server had great conversation as he noticed the trailer we were hauling matched his passion for cars so it was a nice chance to chat and see his face light up with joy while also having a great food experience there.

Staff here are very friendly. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and offered a place to sit. We got the beef dip and blue cheese bacon burger with fries and gravy. Fries were delicious and appeared to be home made. And both the beef dip and burger were delicious. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for great food. Oh we were also up-sold in having a peanutbutter brownie with ice cream. This was also home made and amazing!
