It was good because of the location. Good spot for contractors.
Overpriced, like almost everything in Ontario.
They have a breakfast bar with variety but there is not a lot of room here and the staff could handle more rooms it seems, as there is lots of time for idle hands, and discussions.
There is also a paper sign that says supplies are limited, someone printed off and stuck up in breakfast area, a first for any Comfort Inn I have seen, what a lack of class that gives to the people that stay.
It's cheaper if you book online according to staff, and I would encourage that, because you have to ask for everything, but when you do there isn't any hesitation to give you what you need, so safe to assume just asking politely goes a long way with these and most folks.
Cleaner came in the room while I was sleeping. Meh.
The snow removal is comical. The maintenance guy literally takes the shovel out of his car and leans it against it.
There's a pile of old windows out back. Donate them.
Particularly some of the female staff were extremely professional, and dealt with everything with a level of care I didn't expect. Blown away.
Bring snow boots. If the contractor isn't doing a good job, get another one. Pinnacle is doing an awful job of snow removal here. Slip and falls can cause serious injury.
I shoveled around my own vehicle. To get out. Even your staff complain.
The parking lot is up and down as the gravel has heaved in spots to the point of being dangerous in the back. The cone on the bad spot helps. The landscaping is lacking. Lacking substance and upkeep.
The place frequently smells like microwaved dinner, cigarette and marijuana smoke, but it's not offensive, people are people.
The vacuums I saw were low end models and filthy inside.
If you ask about joining the choice rewards program they seem like they really don't want to help you with that. Cest la vie.
Didn't charge me a marketing fee, but company veterns will use what seem like practised lines that make no sense. Liberal values.
Overall hotels are always a bizarre stay as most are only here for a day or 3 which means you dont really get a good grip on things. Just the fact that you can get something to eat in the morning and not have to wait in Huntsville traffic is a bonus. But walking in this town is bit of a chore because of the amount of stoplights, and neverending line of cars.
The building is generally secure, quiet in most spots, the door latches work. And the staff spoke positively about ownership and the willingness to address issues. To their benefit.
The beds and pillows are high quality. Though as with a lot of hotels with tiny "safety" windows the evidence of black mold is here. The a/c units looked as though they had been cleaned atleast once in the past decade.
Vending machines for junk food. Walking distance to downtown Huntsville but it's not really visually appealing doing the walk, and the sidewalks are always a mess if theres any snow, dangerous for anyone really.
Tv is cogeco cable. Wifi went down a bunch of times. Not the hotels fault. But if you read George Orwells 1984 you probably wouldn't watch cogeco.
As usual, some individual staff members or a small group if you will, make up for the shortcomings.
It's called the hospitality industry because that is what it is and thank God for the girls here. There are no problems here that can't be fixed and I put way too much into Google reviews. Tay stafe everyone! And we're in this...
Read moreAWEFUL STAFF! I called Aug 4th and Sheri helped me with the reservation. She was kind! I didn’t get any confirmation email. So I called next day to see why that was the case. A woman picked up the phone and her being biased towards the call was super obvious from the very beginning. She wasn’t willing to acknowledge the rate I was given the day before she said she can only give me the rates she had that day. There were implications that she didn’t fully trust my word. I told her that she should appreciate as a customer it doesn’t make sense for me to pay more because of her colleague’s mistake. My tone of voice was normal. But she said she is not willing to help me and hung up! When I called again to ask them to send me an email regarding the reservation not confirmed in case I get charges on my credit card, the other guy who picked up wasn’t any better. He said I am sorry for the way you have been treated but we have had enough of you tonight. He refused to send me anything in writing so that I can refer to in case there are charges on my credit card. After all there was a staff member who made a mistake and there could have been another possibility which was me experiencing charges. This is a valid concern and I was not asking for much. After reading some of the reviews and seeing how some people of colour have been treated by racist comments, I have no doubts that my feelings regarding the discrimination was valid. They obviously could not see me while speaking over the phone but I have an accent which could very well been noticed by both the girl and the guy whom I spoke with. Avoid at all possible cost. They really don’t seem to be polite and as people in hospitality business they should do way better than hanging up on customers!!! I have been in North America for 20 years and this was by far my worst experience! I haven’t had anything like this! JUST AWEFUL!
I spoke with the manager later and he was able to find a reservation under my last name which was terrible misspelled despite of me spelling every word at the time of the reservation! He was able to find it under the last four digits of my credit card. So after all the staff members whom I had spoke to were wrong, rude and very...
Read moreHi ...Here are our comments about our stay at the Comfort Inn, Huntsville, July 14th-16th 2024. We thought the hotel was fresh and clean and very comfortable. The breakfast room was clean and well presented with lots of great choices, and the hostess friendly and hard working. The room was fine and the bed comfortable. There were a few things that need to be noted and addressed in our opinion. Sunday's check-in was handled well by a pleasant clerk, however, his appearance didn't seem to be very professional. Not wanting to get him in trouble, but his long messy hair, hoodie, headphones around the neck, and hacked and slashed jeans certainly did not present a proper look for a hotel corporation. Do you not have a basic Comfort Inn logo golf shirt or casual button up shirt for the staff to wear? Regular jeans would have been fine. Check-in was prompt and efficient. I watched him code in our 2 key cards, however when we loaded all our luggage up to the room, the 2 keys did not work. Room 235 is about as far a walk as you can get to the front desk. He was apologetic and re-coded the keys, the whole time wearing his headphones while talking with me. The keys worked fine. They worked fine for one day, until Monday afternoon, when we were locked out of the building. The long walk around from the back parking lot to the front was aggravating. The lady behind the counter was barely apologetic and said the date must not have been put in correctly, half implying the check-in clerk made a mistake. Since it is all computer controlled to our stay dates and we were checking out the next day, plus they had been coded twice on Sunday, I found this hard to understand at all. Your TV cable service is awful. Very blurry, and the picture shifts and gets pixelated at random times, even in the breakfast room. You can't tell what channel you are watching or get any info on the show or movie...
