I was REALLY looking forward to staying here and had a reservation, but after letting the property know in advance that I would be arriving at 10pm (and getting an OK from them), I arrived to the office being closed. I used the call button to let them know I was there to check in for my reservation, and they told me it was impossible because it was sold out and they have everyone they're expecting. I let them know that one of those rooms was me and they told me I must be mistaken and have the wrong dates or place.
Someone came down to talk to me, I showed her my reservation, as well as the conversation via the reservation about my checkin time. She used every excuse - it isn't their fault, it must be wrong, I must have the wrong day, I must have the wrong place, it was impossible that they talked to me, they're sold out, they don't have any record of my reservation (even though they talked to me through the reservation's chat - wasn't her of course). After a lot of back and forth, she called her coworker and we confirmed they did in fact talk to me... but then she claimed it didn't matter because they didn't know I didn't have a reservation (I did, we talked through the booking chat!). After her coworker confirmed they talked to me, suddenly she found my reservation in the system.... but claimed it was cancelled. Again, she told me it wasn't their fault if their reservation system isn't right.
Once she found my reservation and realized they did in fact talk to me - surprise, she had my choice of rooms available and ready - at $30 more than I had reserved for. I walked away and stayed somewhere else.
Just all around terrible service, if they had rooms they were ready and they were willing to sell me, I'm not sure why they put up such a big fuss about not having my reservation and putting so much effort into it being my fault. She was already up and in the office, it was an easy sale for a small business. I could understand if they truly oversold (which still isnt great), but instead they DID have rooms and put the blame on me. A simple "we can't find your reservation but we have rooms available" would have been an easy sale. Instead I walked away telling others not to stay there.
Definitely would not risk staying here and...
Read moreGot 2 rooms with 2 queen beds each. Rooms were spacious. Very good WiFi. Good lighting with three lamps and lighting at the sink area. It was good to have the sink separate from the toilet and shower/bath. Shower, toilet (soft close lid) and very deep tub, sink and counter tops were all new and renovated nicely. The bathroom door in my room does not close shut as it jams at the top...needs fixing. Excellent water pressure! TIP: let the water run for 5 seconds after turning on the tap in the shower before pulling the lever to switch the water to shower head. If not, most of the water comes through the tap below instead of the shower head. Wish I knew this before. None-the-less, the showerhead is great with adjustable settings and I was still able to have a good shower. TV and mini fridge worked well though the freezer section in one room was frosted to the point where nothing could really fit. The hair dryer has a night light which lit the room just enough during the night... I like that...not fumbling in the dark to find my way. No complimentary breakfast because of covid. Microwave available in the same room as the ice machine. The towels were not replaced by housekeeping earlier in the day, but when we called the office at night they responded promptly. (Raj in the office was very friendly and helpful). Bring your own conditioner and shower cap as they are not provided, only soap and shampoo. The room was okay but the dark brown carpet was old...should be replaced, as should the two worn tub chairs. Also housekeeping should clean the drawers...had some debris and dust of some kind...had to clean before putting in clothes. Bed was comfortable... mattress pad and mattress cover over thick mattresses. Pillows were on the soft side. Not a bad room to stay in. Could give 3.5 star...
Read moreWas in town for a wedding and booked a 6 night stay for my spouse and I. We ended up being given a tiny inside corner room which had only a tiny window facing a tree with a fence behind it (ground level).
The room was very dim, and damp even with the AC running all the time, which was only a couple feet from the bed and made for a poor sleep. This was not aided at all by a poor mattress (looks like housekeeping lays down a couple thick blankets under the bottom sheet to help...) and lumpy pillows (no spares tucked away in a closet either).
Wifi in that room was unusable and we had to resort to a mobile tether on our phones using our data plans. You'd connect to hotel wifi for a minute before it drops and pray for good luck in loading a page or two.
Room had an old tube TV with a high pitched whistle while turned on... Haven't seen one of those in a while.
Continental breakfast was limited to coffee and individually packaged muffins and bagels... We didn't partake.
All that said, the room was clean up to our expected hotel standards. We were only in the hotel room in the evenings, all of this would have been a bigger issue had we been in the room for longer periods of time.
Upon checkout the staff noticed the length of our stay and the room we had been given and apologized, offering us an upgrade upon next stay at the same location... But we won't be returning.
We probably should have complained to be honest, we're just not accustomed to...
