I stayed at this hotel from May 15th to the 18th. The place is fine and i would have booked here again since I travel here for work on a weekly basis. except for the part that they will still your expensive belongings god forbid you forget them My last day at the hotel I forgot a Dyson hair dryer. Well when I got home I put my travel suitcase in a corner and I forgot it until today when I was looking to empty it and use it again for my new upcoming trip in Port Carlin. I look inside and realise my Dyson hair dryer was not in the suitcase. I realised I had forgotten it in the only place I had it last. It was surprising that the hotel never called me to let me know they had my hair dryer. I called the hotel and finally after several calls I got a hold of Nikita the front desk manager. I explained to her my situation. She stated the housekeeping had not returned any such item. I asked "how that could be doesn't the housekeeper open all drawers and cupboards when they clean. Isn't that part of the job?" She told me that because they have been so busy she might have forgotten and maybe another guest took it. That was in such bad taste, to blame the next guest that came right off the bat without even looking or talking to the staff? Nikita called me later and told me "sorry no one found anything in your room" No compensation was offered for a very expensive item even though I told her exactly which drawer I put in my hair dryer. She said " Sorry the housekeeper never found anything" I will escalate this issue to the owners if possible. This is unacceptable they stole...

I stayed here the last weekend of February. Where do I start?||1. When I arrived, I had to call the front desk person on his cell phone to check me in.||2. When I go to me room for some reason the furniture was moved around so I had to wait until they put the chairs back. (this was definitely not for cleaning purposes.)||3. The room comes with a kitchenette. I went to put my food in the fridge. The fridge hadn't been cleaned. Something has been spilled and not wiped up. There were marks and food particles on the shelves.||4. The utensils were dirty. A couple of them looked like they still had old food on them.||5. Microwave was dirty.||I called the front desk person on his cell phone again. He came had a look. Apologized and then asked if I could go somewhere for about 30 minutes so they could give my room a good cleaning. (Really? I have to leave?)||Once I returned the room had been cleaned, but the next day I went to use the toaster that was in a drawer and it still had breadcrumbs all over it.||The thermostat didn't work so I couldn't turn the heat down. My room was at 28 c. I ended up leaving my window open to cool it off. Still only got down to 23 c.||I dropped something on the floor and when I stooped to pick it up I saw under the bed. Thank goodness it was when I was packing up to leave because there was garbage and a bottle cap under the bed, and lots and lots of dirt.||I will never ever go back to this...

A couple of pros and some major cons for this hotel. I would not stay here again.

Pros: Location. The property is right in Port Carling, with many amenities nearby. The suites have a fridge, hot plate, microwave, toaster, and coffee machine

Cons: The hotel is dated and not super clean. (Dust buildup in the corners, on the lampshades, etc.) The amenities advertised are not what you get. Booking.com stated there is an Electric Charging Station. What they didn't share was that the charger is privately owned by the owner of the hotel. The owner’s Tesla was plugged in for the entire length of our stay and unavailable to us to charge (even after asking) until 30 mins before we were checking out. Also, there isn’t a gym. The website claims there’s a rooftop fitness centre. This is not true. The beds are painfully uncomfortable. The mattress was thin and had a large dip in the middle. We were given two small pillows and asked for more, which were promised but not delivered. Sleeping on a couch would have been more comfortable.

To sum up, I don’t recommend these accommodations. I pre-booked on Booking.com, which means two nights were paid in full before we arrived. If I could have walked away after the first night, I very...

The hotel is amazing. If your room is facing towards the small lake, it’s amazing in the morning. And if you’re lucky enough during winters, you can see herds of deers’ crossing the frozen lake too. The hotel has a lot of close-by trails to explore so please wear comfortable shoes and clothes as per the weather. There's no Uber or skip so prefer to eat locally and support local business. There's an LCBO and a Pizza place just a walking distance away. Try Muskoka blueberry wine if you like red wines with a sweet taste. Since I visited the place during Winters. I was lucky enough to see Ravens, the furry squirrels and pine martens. Thanks, Port Carlin for being so beautiful.

Great hotel on Lake Joesph, highly recommended. The room was clean and looked like new, the bathroom sparkled. It featured a kitchenette with fridge, hot plate sitting area and large balcony overlooking the lake. The room also had a modern wall mounted split unit ac unit, that kept the room cool and was nice and quiet. The dock area had lots of free water toys to use including kayaks, peddle boats and inflatable climbing rafts. The tv even had Bell HD services for a quality picture, rare in hotels. This place is great!

We booked Junior suite with balcony. It was a great stay. The space was clean and calm, almost new. Very near to restaurants and petrol stations (which is important in Muskoka). Canos and Kayaks were for free which was lovely for our kids. Will go again soon.
