Lunch specials! They've got a bunch of them, and some of them come with soup OR juice, and dessert. We read it as soup, or juice and dessert. It was confusing. That being said, it all worked out. Soup was French onion, and it was a tad salty, but still quite tasty. We had the fish and chips, and we also had the hot beef sandwich. The fish wasn't overly battered and while there was only one piece of fish, it was a pretty large piece. We also upgraded to sweet potato fries for $1.25? It came with a spicy mayo and was well worth the upgrade. The fries, if we had just gone with regular fries, had the option of being doused in gravy at what, to our knowledge, was no extra cost. The hot beef sandwich was the winner though. A generous portion of sliced roast beef was placed atop a slice of bread and gravy was poured over the whole mess. There were roasted veggies on the side and we could have gone with mash or fries, but we upgraded to sweet potato fries again. The dish was basically a roast beef dinner with a hidden slice of bread. Dessert was our choice of apple crumble, chocolate mousse, rice pudding, or jello. Pretty fantastic choices for a meal that cost under $15. Yeah. That's right. Our three course lunch cost less than $15....

I came from Ottawa to Huntsville, this is my second time in town. The first time I came, the family place was jam packed the whole weekend and we weren't able to wait. I'm so thankful that this time around we had an opportunity to try out this gem.
I firstly LOVE the mug collection, i think the quirky aspect of having all different mugs is really sweet. The staff greeted us and let us know a huge party would be leaving and we'd be seated asap. We were seated within 10 minutes of arriving, loved all staff wearing masks and asking for vax info. We were promptly served by a wonderful woman whos name I forgot (I'm so so sorry) but she, as well as everyone else there was absolutely wonderful. They had oat milk for my coffee which i called ahead about, I love that in a smaller town they're still able to accommodate a non dairy option.
Our food was delicious, and the pie was incredible. I hope any bigger city folks visit this place and give a beautiful local business some...

It really is a "Family Place", the service and food is very homely. The don't have young servers, so its like your mom trying to feed you as much as you can until your'e full giving you their best food! We were camping the last three days and came here for dinner on our way back. The server took care of us like we were her own kids.
FOOD: We ordered Tomato Soup, NY and Peppercorn Steak, Fish and fries (minus the fries and they also didnt charge us for it) and Coffee. The soup is very unique, it taste like it was made by your friend's mom, very tasty nonetheless. NY steak was little chewy but it wasnt bad, Peppercorn Steak was really good and the grilled vegetables stuff they have going on with it is a nice addon. Fish was a little over fried and kinda hard on the outside.
Ambiance: You'd get the feeling that you have walked into a family dinner, hence the name. It's not very loud. Very Cosy environment, excellent lightning, good furniture, comfortable seats.
TL;DR: Very homely service and environment, Tomato Soup is very unique and food is good in general. Would definitely go again if we pass...
