The Royal Coach Dining Room is an old standby. Pre-Covid, we'd go for Sunday brunch on birthdays, mother's day, father's day, etc. This was our first time back in over four years. Nothing has changed--for better or worse.
I won't describe the foods. You can check out the brunch menu for each week online, but it's really the same things: fruit, cheeses, cold veggies, eggs Benedict, a couple of hot meat entrees, waffles, and an omelette station, where you can get a custom-made omelette to your liking. The food is good; somehow, they manage to keep the waffles crispy in a steam tray.
The one problem they haven't addressed is ventilation. The omelette station is tucked into a corner of the dining room and there's no ventilation for it. This means that whatever you're wearing is going to smell like omelette and will have to be washed or dry-cleaned. Be warned. It's disappointing that they haven't done anything about this in years. (Isn't this some kind of hazard? If you have asthma, take your inhalers along.)
The other aspect of "atmosphere" that's relevant is the noise level. I couldn't hear if they had music playing in the background. Maybe they did, but you couldn't hear it over the din of the other patrons.
The prices are a bit high, which is the main reason we only come here rarely, for special occasions. The $42 they charge is nowhere near the high-end of La Ronde ($60); L2 Grill is $49, but they offer crab legs. (I've heard the Atrium Cafe brunch is $65, which is bonkers if it's true.) I think the most similar comparison is with the Sawmill's Carvery Brunch, which is only $35. On the low end is Buffet Royale at only $28.
The prices of buffets are a sore spot with me, as all my family members have small appetites. One daughter had exactly one waffle with whipped cream and some fruit. That's it. That's all she could eat. She's over 12 so that cost me $42.

Read moreOrdered bucket of gluten free fried chicken, fries and gravy. Ask when ordering how many would an order of fries would feed. Was told about 2, so I ordered three orders. When order was picked up they told us fried were all put in one box which was fine. Got home unpacked food open fries. Wow barely enough for 3 people. Chicken was disgusting. Cold burnt on outside still pink inside. Gravy looked like chicken broth and taste like lard. $90 worth of what they would call food all dumped in garbage. Celics and people that are gluten sensitivity , do yourself a favor and...
