Pomeroy Hotel & Conference Centre Fort St John — Hotel in Fort St. John

We stayed here in August 2020 ( the fourth) to celebrate 25 years of marriage. The staff put a lovely bottle of wine in the room and some French sweets. The room was so romantic, so sexy and luxurious, that we came back to spend Halloween here. We stayed in the executive suite which features two living areas, a huge king size bed, and a gas fireplace. We ate really delicious bread and cheese and sipped wine and enjoyed the warm surroundings and hauntingly beautiful fado music. Truly a night to remember. The staff are kind and accomodating, and even procured some plates and utensils for us as the cupboards had none. We plan to stay here again for my birthday in February. During this time, a staycation is just what the doctor ordered, and it gave us a sense of relieft, an oasis in the desert of worry and pain that is surrounding our lives. We felt refreshed and renewed, and we recommend this place to anyone who wants to put a little romance back in their lives, or even just have some time to reflect and replenish. This was a lovely place to stay! The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. No question was left unanswered! They pointed out places to visit and recommended where to get special foods/meals. The pool, with a waterslide, was a lot of fun for my 3 grandchildren. The comfortable bed mattress and pillows allowed me, with my bad back, to sleep peacefully. Breakfast was perfect - great coffee, fresh cut up fruit, hot foods and then the self-made waffles (the amazing staff made one for me each morning) with the strawberries in a sauce poured over top! There were lots of other foods including egg dishes, meats, pancakes, potatoes etc. On the last day, I ventured into the casino (my first time ever in one) and the attentive staff was amazingly helpful in making sure I found a game(s) that was enjoyable. Overall good experience. Our family rented 6 rooms with 15 people all together and we all come and go at different times and it was kind of a struggle to get more than one key per room, we did get them eventually. One of the rooms air conditioners didn't work and someone came to fix it but it still didn't work. My only real complaint is the floor around the pool and the slide stairs are not very well cleaned. Also I'm not sure if they don't have towels at the pool because of covid or what, the reason was unclear when I asked and they didn't want to give us any initially, they ended up giving us 7 hand towels for the 9 people swimming so bring your own towels to the pool for sure. We've stayed here many times before and never had the towel problems or the key problems before so maybe it was just a one time thing. The rooms were...
