Motel-Rooms were clean but awfully uncomfortable. Bed creaked whenever you sat on it and we heard a very “rambunctious” couple through the paper thin walls at 2 am. Probably don’t stay here if you actually want to get any sleep. Restaurant-dinner was 0 stars, breakfast was 5 stars. If you read the negative reviews and think “maybe it’s not that bad” you are wrong, it is that bad. The food is hot, bland, and barely edible for dinner. If you want a good meal, go anywhere else. Dinner-I had the shrimp spaghetti and my fiancée had the chicken stir fry. The shrimp spaghetti had well cooked shrimp and good garlic bread, but that couldn’t save the pasta sauce. I have never had pasta sauce that tasted like soap or a bubblegum. I would not recommend getting this dish. I grew up eating plain and bland food and have had the experience of eating pasta in Italy. I have quite the range of palate. This pasta was so bad I couldn’t even finish it, which for me is rare because out of politeness to the restaurants I go to I always finish my meal. My fiancées chicken stir fry, had a mysterious sweet sauce that just barely had detectable hint of flavour but was still better than mine. Breakfast-although we were hesitant, we had the breakfast coupons and gave it a fair try. We had the sausages and the French toast and coffee and all were amazing. They served it with oranges and blueberries which were out of season and a bit tart. The real whipped cream and local maple syrup were great. Our server, was a blonde who had pep and was so nice to have in the morning.

October 2021 We stayed here due to location and because hotel was dog-friendly. Overall, the room was clean and the staff friendly. We ate from the restaurant, and thought it was a little overpriced, but very tasty. The hotel - The hotel is right along the cliff by the water. Not exactly at the falls, but you can see the back of the falls. It's also a short walk down the hill to the viewing area (maybe 5 mins?). Be advised that even if the room is in the building at the edge of the cliff, you may not have a view. Our room was right there, but the only window with a view was in the bathroom. Parking - The parking area is small and busy, but there was a large space behind the side building, so likely more than enough parking for everyone. The room - The room itself was large and clean. However, there was a bad/'thick' smell (like cigarette smoke and heavy cleanser/deodorizer). We had to air out the room for hours before going to sleep. (We did mention this, and the response was that they don't let anyone smoke. They did not come to check the room themselves. They offered a refund, but there were no other hotels with vacancy in the area). Beds were uncomfortable (mattresses old/not supportive). Bathroom was clean and shower had a lot of water pressure. Dog friendly - The hotel itself is dog friendly. However, be aware there is no grass. It was a long walk up the road to grass sections in front of stores each time to take the dog to the bathroom.

I have no information about the rooms, as we only dined at the restaurant, which turned out to be one of the worst meals my colleague and I have ever had. After being seated for 10 minutes, the hostess finally asked for our drink orders. It was a busy night, so I understand that the waitress was not immediately available. When we asked about the beer selection, the hostess informed us that she didn’t know because she was underage and couldn't serve alcohol. We all ordered drinks, which arrived five minutes later—so far, so good. However, the waitress took another five minutes to take our food orders, meaning we placed our order 20 minutes after being seated. We waited for an hour, but our food still hadn't arrived. We asked to see the waitress, but she didn’t come within the next 10 minutes, so we had to get up and wait by the kitchen to ask about our order. The waitress assured us it was coming, so we sat back down and waited another 15 minutes with no food in sight. At this point, we were ready to leave and get takeout somewhere else. Finally, five minutes later, the food arrived for everyone except me. I had to wait another 10 minutes for my plate, which turned out to be cold and disgusting. The restaurant should consider hiring more staff during the high season. I feel bad for the overworked staff, but the experience was so poor that I recommend going elsewhere. The view is not worth it.

Avoid this place at all costs. I am shocked and so disappointed by my experience at this motel. After driving 12 hours my party and I arrived at the motel, checking in to our 2 rooms. In one room, the shower was not clean. There were dark hairs on the walls, and in the drain. There were also hairs found on the sheets. I went to tell the staff at reception and I was told that the cleaning staff wasn't there and unfortunately there wasn't much that could be done. But he added that he would come take a look. He came and saw what I described, took photos as proof, then said he would remove the hairs with his hands and said that was the best he could do. He apologized and said it was unacceptable and that he would send the photos to the manager. I asked if there was a disinfectant I could at least use, and he found me a spray. He told me to mention it again at check out to ensure the manager saw my concerns, which I did. This morning employee took my information and left a note for the manager as well. A few days after check out, after not having heard from the hotel, I called the manager. She told me that she was told by the check in employee that I refused having someone clean the room for me! Why would I do that!? She told me that she couldn't do anything for me because I refused the help. I told her that I had not refused help and she said she needed to confirm with her employee. She also told me that she could only offer $20 back but that she would confirm with the employee first(who was obviously lying to cover his butt). She told me she'd call me back, but never did. The rooms are not well maintained, everything smells musty, you couldn't turn on the fan because it just forced really awful musty air in the room. I found out the next morning that there blood spots found in the bed of the second room. It was outrageously over priced for such a terribly maintained property. And the customer service is...

Terrible food, Awful service. Went to enjoy ourselves on a family getaway and we were greatly disappointed. Firstly, we were not offered a menu for over 20 minutes. When we got our menus, they were breakfast menus instead of lunch menus. It was well into lunch time being 1:00 in the afternoon. The restaurant was not busy. We ordered after the wait staff came back another 25 minutes later. We gave our drink and food orders thinking that if we only gave drink orders, it may be another 30 minutes until we could place a food order. Our coffees and water never arrived at the table, instead, another 40 minutes expired as our food came and I was shocked to discover that my request for well done steak was bloody and raw. The wait staff walked away from the table so quickly and did NOT return. My spouse was equally disappointed with his meal of hot hamburger and mashed potato as it was a watered down heap of brown colored sauce, running like water off his plate. We sat in disbelief in front of our (hopefully) mistaken plates; not that I could call it meals. We will never waste time or money at the Hilltop restaurant again, and wish no one else has a terrible experience as we did. Response from owner: August 7, 2019. Dear Owner; I am equally disappointed with your remark. The point is not that we waited for the wrong menus in a non busy time. The point which you clearly missed is that the food and service is horrible. Bloody meat and a waitress who dashes away says it all, but your remark certainly tops it off. You try to make every guest satisfied... my comment must go through you as I hesitate to see that you understood, which in turn shows that it's not only the waitstaff who have a...
