Canadiana Motel — Hotel in Hanover

One star is too high of a rating to give this motel. I would rather give it zero if I could. We arrived early and asked if we could check in early in the morning. We were told we could and so we did. When we arrived back at the motel later that evening, our room had been given away! We were told that check out was 11am and that we would have to pay for another night. We ended up paying for a few hours stay, and they never offered any sort of compensation for the error or inconvenience, they actually accused us of stealing a pillowcase (we never did, the pillow never had one to begin with) and went on about how we would be charged for it! Don't even get me started on the condition of this room. There was the missing pillow case, the blankets where obviously stained, the walls were dirty, small space heater didn't work properly, no garbage bag in the garbage bin, and worst of all, the towels where DISGUSTING. They were stained and one looked like it had some dried up blood on it. Obviously this motel doesn't wash them with bleach. All in all, I will never be...

Two words to describe this place ... absolutely filthy. The furniture in the entrance is covered in plastic. We checked in and we had to pay upfront ... signs indicating no refunds. Proceeded to our room and there were cobwebs at the entrance to our room. There were cobwebs above the plug-in air conditioner; about two inches of dirt and cobwebs in the ceiling fan in the bathroom. The walls around the shower were filthy with soap scum and the bathtub looked like it had not been cleaned in a very long time. We showered wearing sandals. They also advertise air conditioning; one room has a plug in portable air conditioner while the other room has a stand up fan .... sorry but that's NOT air conditioning. There is an indoor pool which closes at 8:00 pm and closed on Sundays and holidays ..... are these amenities to be enjoyed by the family? Stay away from this place .... absolute filth! The ice machine was out of order and so was the jaccuzi tub ... talk is cheap! When you describe what you have to...

Would give zero stars if I could.

This was hands down the worst motel experience I’ve ever had. The room was filthy — clearly not cleaned, with dirty sheets and a bathroom that looked like it hadn’t seen a scrub in months. The toilet was grimy, the room reeked of smoke and mold, and the air felt heavy and disgusting.

Wi-Fi was basically nonexistent. After being given the runaround just to get the password, it still didn’t work. Staff were rude and unhelpful — more focused on charging fees than providing any kind of hospitality.

Despite going outside regularly to smoke (caught clearly on camera), we were still hit with a smoking fee for the room. Absolutely absurd. We didn’t even stay the night due to the anxiety and disgust from the condition of the place — yet we were charged full price, lost our deposit, and got an extra person fee because a friend stayed a couple of hours late at night.

Greedy, dirty, and dishonest. Avoid Motel Canadiana at all costs. This place is a health...
