My family and I stayed there over the American May long weekend and have to say this is one of the best campgrounds we've been to. We stayed 4 nights.
Let's start with day 1. Sadly since it was the American long weekend, they did not have a full hook up site. However, they did have 30A and Water available. That was no fault of theirs as those sites go first. So book early. When we arrived, we met Monique. She was a great help and really very friendly. She personally helped us to our site and helped me park our trailer. She explained to us the site had very high water pressure and made sure we had a regulator which we did. I wouldn't leave home without one.
We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the grounds and they really take care of the place. The pool was great after long days in the blistering heat! The seasonal campers there were very friendly as well and their trailers were well kept. We didn't use the bathrooms there that much, but from what we did see, they were very clean. The laundry room was great as well. We did not check out the games room. It did have a great play area for the kids.
Monique's husband Bruce was also friendly and keeps the place orderly. The site was quiet and everyone was well behaved. If you are looking for a campground to be rowdy and party, this is not the place for you. It had a great family atmosphere.
The pricing was fair but the service received certainly did not match the price paid. Not in a bad way. It exceeded the pricing. It was the little things like Monique would deliver your firewood at night to you right to your site. We came as strangers but we felt more like friends when we left!
As for the bad review this place got, I took the time to ask them about it. I always like to get both sides of the story. It turns out one of the bad reviewers didn't even stay at the campground or I believe they wouldn't have given a bad review. When showing up to go camping, make sure you understand how the pricing works. When you show up with multiple car loads of people they have the right to charge you for multiple people.
Check this place out! You won't be...
Read moreWe tried to make it to this place. I was excited because it looks stunning and close to the many attractions in the area! However, out of a combination of poor business communication and our own travel troubles, we unfortunately did not make it but are not going to be refunded. I can't speak to the quality of the campground itself, but for whatever reasons, reaching anyone by phone was impossible from 12:15pm to office closing at 5pm on a Thursday. We were traveling from Maine and had some travel hiccups; we booked this place online as we started our travels to the area pbut when I had immediate questions that could not wait 18+ hours for return communication, I could get no one to answer the phone. We also left a few voicemails and also emailed. Ultimatey, we ended up renting a hotel for a night then booked another campground. The next day, we received a call from Jordan Valley and after explaining that having no communication the prior day was a major issue for us and requesting a refund, we were met with excuses and denial and told that they would've made arrangements for a late arrival but again, with no communication, we couldn't guess as what they would or wouldn't do and this information isn't spelled out on their website. It says to make arrangements with them if after 7pm- but that's it. All in all, I'd say call first and ask ALL of your questions up front. If you can't get them on the phone and your travelling more than a couple of hours, use their ability to communicate as a barometer on weather to book or not. I'll be calling to book all of my future plans for any business (if possible) after this experience. ALSO, read all of their newest reviews in the last year to gauge for yourself - I should have saw the...
Read moreWe used to love this campground having camped here for several years but things have really gone down hill.
The grounds are beautiful and it is close to many amenities but the campground feels like it’s abandoned and is used by transients as a place to crash. We have witnessed people driving in late at night, sleeping in their cars and leaving in the morning on several occasions. No one is on duty at night so it’s easy to do.
We also unknowingly booked the flooded site. We know from experience that it can flood when it rains but the current problem is from an underground leak that they SAY they’re going to fix but don’t. I can’t believe they are still booking it to be honest. We reported it to head office in June way before all the rain we’ve been getting. We cancelled our next booking and got nothing but an acknowledgment that it’s a problem.
We got stuck driving in due to the flooding and the manager refused to help in any way saying it was a liability. Isn’t it a liability to rent a constantly flooded space??
My husband had to walk up the road to find a local farmer who kindly towed us out for 50$. That on top of the almost 100$ per night charge for an electric site makes it a very expensive camping experience. He also mentioned that things have gone downhill here.
Don’t bother asking for any kind of help from the current Manager. She is difficult to find when you need something and isn’t helpful when you can locate her.
So many weird things happened this year and last under her supervision.
