My wedding reception took place at Buffet Roma on July 23rd 2017. Mary La Rocca is who my now-husband and I dealt with. When we initially signed the contract, we were very excited because the price was very affordable and she made it seem like we didn’t have to worry about anything. Communications will be made and the reception will run smoothly when it comes to catering, open bar etc... i had asked her many times who should we communicate with for the catering. She had said that she would let us know but she never did and with all the million things we had to think about, we also did not follow-through with asking her again (because that is supposed to be her job right?!?!). She also did not mention that our caterers had to be present to set up the food on the tables. And most importantly, she did not let us know how much food we can bring.
The day of the reception was a disaster. She calls me as I am getting ready to tell me that her staff cannot handle our food and asked me to call our caterer to come back and set up the food (you can imagine how stressed out I was on that day alone, and to have her call me and add more stress to my plate was really not cool). I told her that they simply need to put the food on the heating trays and serve them, it is as simple as that! But she tells me that her staff is not trained to heat up Sri Lankan/ Indian food and tells me that she might have to call in her chef and the cost for that would be 400$. I tried calling my caterer but they had another wedding to go to and could not come back. As a result, i was told the kitchen was a disaster. Her staff mixed up the food, threw food away and my family members and some bridesmaids had to step-in in order to serve the food. My guests were hungry and the food was served an hour later.
Now for the open bar.... i instructed them to serve cocktails from 5-6pm but the bar tender was refusing to do so. There were no cocktails served that day.
So as you can see by this review, i was very unsatisfied. I was meaning to write a review since a while now but couldn’t get myself to do it because it just brings back so many bad memories and that’s not what your wedding day should bring.
I feel like if we had dealt with her partner (i think his name is Marco or Mike... something with an M), we would have had a better experience. Another friend of mine also mentioned to me that her partner was pleasurable to deal with and that her and her husband had a very bad experience with Mary. It just felt like she was after the money and didn’t care about how we felt and during the meetings, we felt like she just wanted to rush things and get out of of the room ASAP.
So although Buffet Roma is very affordable, customer service was a 0 on 10. I unfortunately had to give 1 star because they don’t give us the option to give less.
All that to say, just be careful with who you deal with when booking a hall at buffet roma and make sure that you have lots of questions and make sure that the answers provided are very clear...
Read moreHorrible Management. As a professional wedding decorator, I’ve had the opportunity to work with many venues, but unfortunately, my experience with this particular wedding hall was deeply disappointing.
From the very beginning, I encountered an unwelcoming and dismissive attitude from several members of the staff. Rather than collaborating respectfully or supporting the smooth flow of the event, they made the process unnecessarily difficult with their lack of communication and unwillingness to cooperate.
Any issues that arose were met with blame-shifting and complete avoidance of responsibility. While setting up the flowers their staff hit it multiple times that I had to re-fix it, a welcome sign mirror was broken and they acted like they never saw it until I insisted they said it broke and they threw it in the garbage!! . Instead of addressing concerns professionally, I was met with hostility and an unhelpful attitude, which only added stress to an already time-sensitive setup. I sincerely hope the management reflects on this feedback and considers improvements, especially in how external vendors are treated, from their reception lady to the head staff they need to be re evaluated to how to respect...

The wait staff and the food is really good. They try to accommodate and are friendly. However, there seems to be a lack of general cleanliness in the common areas. There's only one bathroom area that is shared by all the weddings which are located on the main floor. Sticky floors, toilet paper not stocked in the side contraption and is instead sitting on the toilet's tank. For a venue that caters to weddings meaning women wearing long dresses, dirty floors are not ideal. I can't imagine how the brides do it.
At the table, my glass had lipstick stains on it and nobody had used the glass as the doors had just opened. I noticed that other segments of dishware were also not cleaned properly. The staff exchanged it for me without a fuss but it still turned me off and I was hyper aware of every single dish/utensil that was given to me. The trust was gone and I was examining my plates and glasses instead of just enjoying my time.
All in all, nice spot especially the reception halls/food quality but needs to work on cleanliness and more bathroom accommodations and/or bathroom...
