Let me start by saying that I have never written a restaurant review before, but the service we received here was TERRIBLE. My friend made a reservation for her birthday, and there were eight of us at the table. This was our first time dining here, and her aunt recommended it because she has been a loyal customer.
Firstly, they did not mention that the water bottle cost $6 at the beginning. Later, we asked one of the waiters about the water bottles because we weren’t sure if we were being charged. They explained that since they don’t serve alcohol, they don’t offer complimentary water. If that’s the case, they should have informed us upfront to avoid any surprises when we received the bill. Additionally, the waiter returned with a tap water bottle and said, “I won’t charge you for this.” However, we later noticed that we were still charged for the bottle on the bill.
Secondly, the place was so loud that I had to yell to my friends for them to hear me. I was in the middle of eating my bread when the appetizers arrived a minute later. I had ordered oysters as my appetizer. The older waiter, Danny, was extremely rude. With the noise level, I could hardly hear what he was saying as I was eating. He then yelled at me to move my plate. My friends were shifting things around on the table to make space for the oysters, but Danny yelled again, saying, “If you don’t move your plate!” He then took my plate of bread and moved it aside while I was still eating, placing the oysters in front of me. I found this extremely disrespectful. This waiter needs training in customer service. I have never been treated this way at any other restaurant. I work in customer service myself, and while I understand how one can lose patience, this was unacceptable. We were even kind enough to create space for the oysters, but he chose to move my plate while I had bread in my hand. Later, another waiter came by, and I asked for the name of the waiter who served me because I was unhappy with his service. Moments later, Danny returned to our table, and my friends noticed him glaring at me. I did not appreciate that attitude at all.
Thirdly, when we received our food, some of it was cold. I was already frustrated with the service, and when I got my filet mignon, I discovered that my potatoes were cold as well. My friends' dishes were cold too. At this point, I was very disappointed with the restaurant.
Fourthly, when it came time for the bill, we told a waiter that we wanted it divided into four couples, meaning a separate bill for each couple. Danny returned and asked my friend if it was indeed by couple, to which he replied yes. However, he brought back only one bill. We repeated our request for separate bills, but he insisted that we had agreed to one bill, which was not the case. I later asked him again if it was possible to provide separate bills, but he replied that he could no longer do that.
I usually have patience with people, but I have never experienced such horrendous customer service in my life. I will definitely not recommend this place to anyone. This birthday dinner was a disaster due to the treatment we received. If the owner wants to reach out, I’m open to discussing my experience, but they need to retrain their staff in...
Read moreWe were group of 8 people celebrating a birthday. Let’s get into the honest and non-biased review:
The service: was excellent at all times of our dinner. From the beginning the waiters and staff were super friendly and not fake. They’re all super quick and don’t stop. Even guys who simply pick up dishes are nice and sociable. Consistent, fast, not-rushed, attentive, friendly service.
Appetizers: They are delicious and fresh, as well as generous portions, in comparison to some overrated restaurants around these days that are tasteless and small. From Burrata, Oysters, Salmon Tartar, and Perfectly fried Calamari, everything was tasty, not over-salted and prepared perfectly. The presentation of each dish is great as well.
Main Meals: Tomahawk, Cowboy Steak, Rib-steak, Seafood Linguine, Fresh fish, all came hot, perfectly cooked to everyones requested ‘cuisson’. The meats are seasoned so well and don’t taste like rubbery charcoal-flamed meat. It’s nice that veggies are included with steaks and fish plates. Most restaurants slap a piece of meat in-front of you, and expect you to pay 10$ for veggies. A minor critique would be just to cook the veggies 1 more minute as mine were not al dente, they were crunchy. Potatoes however, are delicious. All of our dishes were hot, which is very important to me. Even the cutlery, napkins, and plates are solid quality.
Dessert: The Pistachio Cake was delicious and moist; exactly what I envisioned when ordering it. The Tartufo, also Pistachio, is imported and excellent! The crême brulée and the tiramisu were not bad, but not as delicious. Espresso hot and creamy. Ending the night with some assorted Italian chocolates from the waiter. I mean, between the good food and ending the night with good dessert and chocolates, what more can you ask for.
Overall, for a restaurant I’ve been dying to try, it certainly lived up to the hype that people around me gave it. Yes, you pay for water bottles, but who wants to drink disgusting, chlorinated dead tap water anyway? If you’re spending 100$+ on a meal, who cares about paying for 5$ imported water. It is definitely worth the price, atmosphere’s nice, service is very good, food is genuinely fresh. You can tell when an establishment and owner cares about the product and experience. Try it out and see for yourself.
Thank you to the staff, I am looking forward to coming back soon.
The WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. It's very confusing, loud place, the waiters are completely lost, there's no one to receive people arriving and to organize the place. THERE'S NO MENU, why they can't have the menu on the website? It's unbelievable. We arrived 7:30, the place was very noisy and loud, waiter pointed the table and walked away, after 30 minutes trying to understand how we order I had to walk to talk with a waiter because they simply don't come to explain how the place works. After that, THERE'S NO MENU, there's a board with 5 options, just the name and price, you have no explanation, the place is too loud, the waiter has to explain more than once, they haven't had the option we choose then more time to choose again, after all we got a Risotto and File Mignon. The File Mignon is not even on the menu, the waiter didn't knew the price not even what kind of vegetables were coming together. Frustration after frustration, the food arrived 9:30, 2h after the time we arrived there, 2h to prepare a File Mignon and a Risotto. In the end they even charge $5 per bottle of water and they don't even explain that, it's not on the board menu. The food is very good, presentation is good, but the service is the worst I have ever saw in my life, have never seen something like that. Waiters rude, they don't have patience to explain the lack of the menu, they treat us like if they were doing a favor. It's not my fault the place has no Menu to choose what I am going to eat and the only source is the waiter, what else should I do? Very very bad, I don't know how people still go there, I'm very frustrated with that place I'll never go back...
